Very nice county park that is well-maintained. There are multiple little historic points of interest, like the mansion, a covered bridge, and a small church. Trails are limited, but there are some that you can walk on. I wish crossing the street was safer since the park is on both sides of the road.

This is a nice spot to view the Susquehanna River and watch trains cross over, just down stream of the park. Stopped by on Feb. 23rd, 2025 to see an ice jam, There is plenty of parking, a small play ground for the children and a small pavilion for picnics.

Beautiful 1800s mansion with lots of history and landscape. There are many building on the property but the mansion itself is the only one to tour. Tour guide was knowledgeable and pointed out special features. Bonus is a view of the Rockville train bridge

Fort Hunter is a gem in the Dauphin County park system. If you're looking for a picturesque place to take pictures there's no other local place that has the variety of backdrops. There's the covered bridge the stone barn The larger cream colored barn the mansion itself walkways and even access where you can be right down by the river and feel like you're completely in nature.

The park itself offers great opportunities for educational trips.

There are pavilions on both sides of the road, as well as restrooms.

There's a nice playground for children on the barn side of the park.

There are multiple opportunities for relaxing with a view of the river.

Going here for sunsets is amazing. It is also a lovely place to walk, play yard games, and throw parties: I've been to many celebrations at Fort Hunter! Take the tour if you get the chance!

We did the sunset tour recently, and our guide was very informative and pleasant. The tour also included some sweet and savory treats as well as a choice of mocktails. This is just another reason to live in central PA.

I had the pleasure of visiting this beautifully upkept mansion at one of Fort Hunter's Sunset Tours. These tours only allow a limited number of guests, so it was very easy to see the different rooms of the mansion and to interact with the tour guide. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the mansion, and you could tell that she enjoyed sharing that information with others. At the end of the tour, we were all given a choice of mocktail and a plate of decadent snacks to enjoy on the mansion grounds. This is an incredibly worthwhile way to spend an evening, and I will be looking to see what other events I can attend here.

Recently went here for a training session with my dogs. Great park it is early Feb so not a lot of foot traffic due to the cold. I am looking forward to when it warms up to come back and use the grounds. Nice open Field. It is right if 2nd Street so the traffic can be a thing but overall a pretty and enjoyable park.
