A treasure in Fort Wayne. I have gone to many concerts for years and have always loved live music. The Fort Wayne philharmonic is a total experience for the mind and soul. You can tell the musicians love what they do and they want their songs to reach their listeners. I am always touched by the live music and just the quality of the talent which is amazing. The Fort Wayne Philharmonic has such talented musicians that are really stars of Fort Wayne.

When I attend the Philharmonic concerts at the Embassy, there are always a lot of empty seats. If more of the community would buy tickets, then maybe all this mess about wanting to downsize the orchestra would be resolved. I mean, there are two sides to this. The $20,600 yearly salary is horrible, but then, the half empty seats are horrible also. Why dont the people of Fort Wayne support the orchestra better than they do by paying money for tickets. Just my opinion. The orchestra is great and I love the Philharmonic orchestra.

The way the Fort Wayne Philharmonic management is demeaning and trying to shame their employees is disgusting. These are professional musicians who probably started working on their craft in middle school and pursued a college degree in their instrument. They dedicate hours of practice each week to the full orchestra and independently. They have purchased and must upkeep fine instruments.
They are asking for a living wage. Give it to them and stop being petty. You are only hurting your own organization by putting that hateful rhetoric out there.

The one star rating is for the management - not the musicians or their performances.

Just attended The Nutcracker last Sunday with the philharmonic. The music was outstanding and made the ballet even more enjoyable. Last July 4, I attended the free concert at Prkvw field, AMAZING and moving! The FW Philharmonic orchestra is such an asset to the community and surrounding area! FW needs this wonderful orchestra!

Refuses to pay musicians a fair wage, and then blames the victim when they go on strike. This organization has no respect for musicians or patrons. Until they begin taking responsibility for their own callousness, the public will suffer. Fire all of them and replace with people who actually care.

The concert featuring the Verdi "Requiem" was a fantastic performance. The orchestra and the chorus were outstanding. The fact that the conductor did not subject the audience to the inane comments that he loves to inflict made the performance even more enjoyable. Good music speaks for itself. A good performance speaks for itself. The conductor should let the music and the performance speak for themselves. His drivel does nothing to enhance the experience. Constantine is an outstanding musician and an excellent conductor, but he is at best a mediocre speaker and a horrible comedian.
I do not wish a cold or laryngitis on anybody, but I was relieved when Constantine's condition caused him to spare us his usual drivel.
