We have worked with the gateway clipper to plan our special day over the past year. To Patti, Daniel, Noel, Shauna, DJ Chachi, and the boat crew… thank you so much for our day.

There was some bumps because our planner had left the gateway clipper halfway through our journey, but Noel and Daniel assisted us in making this right. We also had issues with Lincoln Bakery, but the team worked with us on getting a new cake from Oakmont Bakery. Patti was also very willing to assist us when questions arose. Noel was so responsive and even showed us the boat over a video call when we had to come up with the layout. The packages they offer are great too and make planning very simple.

My biggest thanks is to the boat crew and staff. They worked so hard and we couldn’t have had a beautiful day without them. The bartenders were so hospitable and kind, Shauna and DJ Chachi made transitions seamless, and the food was great. Our guests all raved about how amazing the wedding was!

Took the Barbecue Lock and Dam Dinner on 10/17/24. The crew were warm and welcoming. The meal was good. No complaints. The D.J. kept the boat rocking and was a surprisingly good background for the star of the show which is the cruise and views. Once the buffet tables were cleared, some folks even started dancing!

After traveling downstream on the Ohio watching a beautiful sunset, we arrived at the dam and lock. The lock was busy and we waited for quite a while for the ship that was in it to clear.

I think the Captain made the right call and decided not to go into the lock since that would have severely reduced or erased our ability to cruise the city lights upon our return. I really wanted to see the lights of the city from all 3 rivers at night. Some folks were disappointed since it was called a Dam and Locks cruise. I was delighted. Good call Captain!

Went for a family wedding. As part of the cookie table crew we had to go early to set up. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Always a great ride on the river.

Had a blast on a recent visit on the Santa Fun Kids Cruise. Well planned event for the kids. They had a blast. Friendly staff. Beautiful views of the city. Would definitely recommend a kids cruise for a fun family outing.

I did the dinner cruise and while the food had too much sugar for me, the cruise itself was very informative. A great way to see Pittsburgh and spend an evening if you have the 3 hours to commit. The captain shared lots of interesting facts and the DJ rocked. I would give 4 1/2 stars if I could

We went on the Friday night dinner cruise and loved it! Buffet dinner was very good; chicken, salmon, veggies and mashed potatoes. Delicious! They encourage to go back up for seconds! Once we started cruising down river, the captain did a great job on pointing out interesting things about Pittsburgh. He did a great job. DJ was very good too. He took request and was all good music to listen to and dance too. Also have to give a shout out to crew and a wonderful bystander for helping someone who had a medical emergency. Great job to all! All in all it was a nice dinner cruise and will definitely do again.

A Picture-Perfect Wedding Venue!

As the owner of Jean-Leigh Photography, we are happy to serve the Pittsburgh area, as we have family in the area. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph a wedding on the Gateway Clipper for the first time. Our couple, Dakota and Connie, were absolutely wonderful, and we are so grateful they brought us along to capture their special day on the water.

The experience was truly unforgettable. The boat was far more spacious than I anticipated, offering ample room for guests to enjoy the celebration. The natural light was incredible, allowing us to capture some truly breathtaking shots, and the décor was beautifully done, adding an extra layer of elegance to the event.

The staff was exceptionally welcoming and helpful, making the entire day run smoothly. Everything was so well-coordinated, and the vendors worked seamlessly together to ensure the couple had their perfect day. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to work with the Gateway Clipper team again in the future!

My wife and I went on the BBQ Lock and Dam dinner cruise and had one of the best nights together! A few useful tips I took from other reviewers: get there early. Our table was assigned already, but we didn't have any line to wait for food (though it was never more than 5 or 6 people long). Once you finish dinner, quickly go up and grab a seat on the top deck. It gets crowded as people wrap up their meals, so this is where being early pays off. We sat a few rows from the front which was alright, there's plenty to see in every direction and the lock experience is so interesting, it's hard to not want to see it from EVERY angle!

The food was super good. Beef ribs that were ridiculously tender, chicken halves, amazing baked beans with sausage, I loved the broccoli salad they had, chocolate cheesecake for dessert... It was a total home run! The drinks were really good and reasonably priced. Dinner and drinks were worth the price of the cruise.

The DJ took requests but played a really great soundtrack the whole time, shouted out birthdays and stuff, created a cool atmosphere and when there was anything interesting, the Captain was on the speakers giving tour guide info. Everyone was great on board.

Bathrooms could have been easier to find and the whole boat was a bit dated but *everything felt clean* and that's hard to do with something so dated. We'll definitely make a point to do one of these again. It was worth every cent.
