We love the gateway lodge. We have stayed in a king lodge suite and the luxury cabins. Each time we have been treated like family. Our last trip we stayed 4 days in the luxury cabin and within minutes of being here we knew that every penny we spent was worth it. The cabin is well maintained, quaint, quiet, and the epitome of relaxation. We got full use of the hot tub that gives views of Cook Forest, the shower is a dual head with heated floors, and the lights were on when we arrived. Everything was clean and immaculate. We always plan a dinner at the lodge. The staff will get to know you and are so welcoming and inclusive. I look forward to talking to the sommelier when we are there. He is so knowledgeable and has a passion for wine. Recently we got engaged there and he made sure to make our night feel special. The staff remember us by name now. You will be family to the owners the more you stay. I don’t want to leave out that the staff are LGBT friendly and celebrated our queer engagement without question. I promise your stay here is worth it and more. The memories you make here will be endless.

We had a wonderful night at Gateway Lodge. We stayed in one of the rooms in the original building, and it was fabulous! The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very well-appointed.||The setting for the Lodge is beautiful and should be explored if you can.||We had dinner in the restaurant, which was delicious. The Solelier was very helpful in selecting a great bottle of wine to pair with our meals.||All in all, this was a great place with wonderful, helpful staff. We will definitely be back!!

We stayed in a luxury cabin for 3 nights and had dinner at the restaurant the first night. The lodge and grounds are nice. The cabin was fantastic.

The only negative about our stay was interacting with the woman running the desk on Friday morning. She was rude and off putting. Because of this, we opted to cancel our reservations at the restaurant the next two evenings. Upon checkout, the lodge was locked so we called in from the road to check out. The same woman could not get off the phone fast enough and was short and rude. I asked her for the final bill to be emailed to us, and she replied that the bill was given to us upon check-in, which made no sense. We still have not received the email for the final bill although the final charges were made. I would likely give this place a five out of five if not for the poor customer service experience we have encountered with The woman we know other people have complained about in reviews. When people are paying $350+ per night, they should not have to deal with an employee who was miserable and didn’t want to be there. Everyone else was fantastic. The guy who checked us in gave us great hiking tips and we received the tour upon arrival. The wait staff and the restaurant was phenomenal as well.

Absolutely amazing place to get away and recharge. The front desk was helpful and answered all my incessant questions. The restaurant food and staff were friendly and food was great. Whether you’re looking for a quiet romantic getaway for two or to meet fellow travelers this place is for you. The only updates I would make are new towels maybe something a bit softer and upgrading the tvs to allow streaming services. The lodge overall felt like something out of a movie. Truly a magical weekend for us.Thank you to everyone who works there for making it amazing.

Loved the comfort of the room. Bed linens were so soft. Jetted tub had bubble soap.
Breakfast basket arrived warm and entrees were creative and delicious. Dinner at the restaurant was very good all 3 times we ate there. Staff was helpful and courteous
Lodge was decorated for the holidays and very pretty.

Wonderful location in the Cook Forest. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our two day, New Years package, complete with dinner, champagne toast and live entertainment! Cello Fury (the band) played two great sets of original pieces and covers and set a good mood. The restaurant menu the first night was varied and delicious and the prix fix (including wine pairing) for NYE was outstanding. Great service and comfortable rooms; the jetted tub and fireplace was great! We'll be back in the warmer months to sample some more of the surrounding hiking trails.

My wife and I did a 3 day bike adventure and reserved a Fall Harvest Weekend Suite Package at the Gateway Lodge. We would have preferred a suite on the top floor (walls were a bit thin) but the room was very clean, and had a nice fireplace, soaking tub and porch. The rustic timber and chinking that lined the room is very appealing and gave a woodsy fragrance to the room. We would recommend saving the wine and cheese platter to have as an appetizer at dinner as you will get a much heartier portion and a better presentation. The staff was delightful and very responsive. Dinners were pricey but delicious. The included 3 course autumn dinner was excellent and spending a little more for the wine pairing made it outstanding...Robert the bartender would serve the wine with each course and enthusiatically tell you about each wine and why it pairs with the particular course. The included breakfasts that were delivered by basket to our door was a nice touch and very tasty. I would recommend that Gateway have gourmet coffee available in the great room or upgrading the in room coffee makers or both. The staff was in my top 3 for outstanding service. They all introduced themselves, were cheerful, freindly and very attentive. ||The lodge is very close to hiking and biking trails and peak leaf season in Cook Forest is absolutely spectacular!||Overall it was an excellent stay and we will be returning guests!

This was our second trip to the Gateway Lodge. The first time we stayed in a King Suite but this trip we decided to stay in the Luxury Cabin and it did not disappoint!
It was very clean, spacious, and cozy.
We also enjoyed our time in the outdoor jacuzzi while it was snowing. We’ll be back again!
