My favorite leather and feather items here hang from the ceiling around the registers. This piece was made by Gaylene Wallie. On my drive from DC to LA, I stopped at about a dozen trading posts. Most of the lower priced trading posts are further east, away from California and the Grand Canyon. This trading post was the last one with prices competitive with ones further east, but with an overall better selection. The prices for their petrified wood is much higher, but theirs is cut and polished and what I found at the other stops is not. For those looking for unpolished petrified wood, there was at least one shop near the petrified wood forest that had them in bulk.

Such a cool store! It has all sorts of rocks, gemstones, minerals, local Indian art, great stuff for the kids. We got our daughter a bow & arrows and a native beaded necklace. I got for myself, a real colored agate slice. They also sell pieces of petrified wood here in so many beautiful colors. Outdoors is full of huge pieces of petrified wood and colorful tepees and old stage wagons.

Omg what a fun place. The lady and gentleman were so nice. Defently worth a quick stop. So much stuff to see in the store.
Update: my cactus bloomed and are doing amazing.

This is a very cool shop with lots of polished petrified wood items! They also have geodes, turquoise & Indian jewelry. Lots of other kinds of souvenirs too!

The gift shop is cool…we bought some cacti, which the highway signs advertise about but there were very few options. And it was full of breakable things so keep the kiddos close. The workers seemed to be perturbed at the presence of children or the request to use the restroom but there is a port a potty out in the other side of the parking lot that is relatively clean if you must use it.

They also sell pieces of petrified wood here in so many beautiful colors. Outdoors is full of huge pieces of petrified wood and colorful tepees and old stage wagons and you can touch them and take photos for free!

We enjoyed seeing hand woven rugs, blankets, hand made moccasins for all ages. The quality of the items made by the Native Americans were beautiful.
