Honestly, with the remote location of Fairbanks and the circumstances, it’s a great place to stay. Front desk is friendly, cleaning service is on top of it, it’s walking distance to BX, Commisary, the Yukon, and the gym. You are on base and don’t have to worry about crime either. The lobby is a great place to hang out, put on a movie, play cards, and socialize with Germans. There’s free coffee and a descent snack bar with cheap bears, frozen foods, snacks etc. Downside is that you will want to buy your own gallons of water instead of drinking the tap water. Also, it’s super bright in the summer if you are trying to fall asleep or sleep in, so bring an eye mask and ear plugs as the jets fly in the morning. Also, there’s no AC in the rooms so it can get really hot if your room is facing the sun on the hot summer days. WiFi worked great for me, there’s a fridge, and microwave in the rooms too.

The rooms are tiny, and inconvenient. The only reason we’re in lodging instead of the dorms is because there’s two of us, and the rooms are not set up with two people in mind. There’s only one dresser, and for two people who just moved their entire lives to a new place there isn’t enough space. The bed being set at an angle is the most inconvenient and idiotic thing I’ve ever seen, whoever had that idea needs to be fired. There’s 0 space to move around in the room. The bed is also tiny. Once again, most people are staying in lodging due to a pcs, meaning there are going to be two of them. Heaviest doors ever and no doorstops, making any attempt to bring anything in with you into an entire fiasco. And you can forget about closing the door quietly. You’ll be constantly awoken by peoples doors slamming all throughout the night. Also, there’s no breakfast options available so any dependents have to live off of pop tarts and ramen from the downstairs store, or have to walk through the cold to the bx/shoppette/commissary anytime they want to eat in the mornings. The room had no conditioner when we arrived and only one roll of toilet paper, even though we were there for an extended stay. On that same topic, housekeeping was impossible to get in touch with to get more toiletries, but at the same time constantly stopped by early in the morning, waking up sleeping dependents. All that can be overlooked if there were an adequate number of pet rooms available. Having to find pet boarding and arrange for pet care, and then having to pay for it out of pocket after just moving our entire lives to a new place was pretty difficult and honestly could’ve just been remedied if there were an adequate number of pet rooms. Seeing as many military families have pets and move pretty consistently, I don’t think that having a proper number of rooms is too big an ask. Last but not least, why the hell do the trash trucks come at 5 in the morning? People are trying to sleep and they’re banging giant metal containers around and dumping heavy items into their giant metal backs at times when people are trying to get the last vital moments of sleep. Not to mention the beeping every time they back up (which is annoyingly constant since there’s multiple trash cans). All in all the staff is amazing, friendly, and helpful… but the actual product feels like the bare minimum, and very poorly thought out. I know this is going to fall on deaf ears, and nothing is going to be changed, but at least now you’re aware of the problems.

Rooms clean but small. The front desk is really friendly. Best snack bar/souvenir shop I've ever seen in a base lodging. No cable in rooms!

The rooms are clean. The staff are always friendly. They need to fix their TV service. If they can't provide service, then they need to buy all rooms a firestick or Google stick so that patrons can connect their devices to the TVs.

Wonderful staff. Comfortable rooms. Love that there’s a real mini fridge (with freezer) and a microwave. I was in a group of 12 and all of us agreed the shower heads could use some updating, but the water was HOT so that’s really the important thing. They little shop in the lobby is totally outstanding for tiny souvenirs and snacks and even some ‘real’ food items that can be microwaved. It was extremely convenient especially considering how early most of the dining options close. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Idk but the lady at the front desk said I couldn't leave my room without written permission during covid. Like you're not my mom lady

Can't help the location. Staff is great. Clean and cozy. Although it's silly how they mandate a two day service of your room yet they have a "save the planet" placard that asks you to reuse towels. When you only have two towels available, it kind of defeats the purpose. I feel like four days would be more reasonable. Silly commanders.

Has all the essentials that one would expect from Air Force billeting however during the summer you'll notice the lack of AC and when it's warm out the rooms get toasty. Also no cable TV while there due to issues with GCI. Located close to the dining facility and BX which is nice.
