My husband and I live in the Anchorage area, but wanted to have a quick weekend getaway. We booked Cabin #8 and really enjoyed our weekend! There is live music on Saturdays, so many hiking trails to choose from in the area and we went during blueberry season. If you are staying, I highly recommend booking the sauna. It was so much fun to lay in the (freezing) river then running back inside the sauna to warm up. There are plenty of board games, the drinks are delicious and the pies are homemade.

We had a GREAT weekend at the Hatcher Pass Lodge! Staff was so friendly and helpful, food and beverages were delish and the live music Saturday was fun! Between the mine and all of the hiking trails there is so much to explore! My husband took advantage of the sauna and loved it! We brought our pups and had plenty of room in the comfortable, cozy cabins. We look forward to returning!

(We came here for lunch, not to stay.) The food was excellent. Even though the prices were kinda high, the taste of the meal makes up for it. The place is kept very nicely and ther servers are nice. The servers are also very knowledgeable about Palmers and can easily tell you where the best attraction spot is. I would definitely want to come again.

The bright red exterior of these cabins and the surrounding mountain scenery couldn’t be more stunning. The cabins and services are basic, with no running water in the cabins and limited electricity, but the beds are comfy and for the price and the location it’s a great value. The cabins are an excellent place to sleep after a full day of adventure in Hatcher Pass. ||The lodge team is friendly and welcoming! During the day the main lodge and restaurant get busy with day guests. We loved the additional amenities for cabin guests, like having the main lodge reserved for cabin guests only in the evenings and the coffee, water and tea available in the main lodge for cabin guests.

Food was decent, especially for a more remote location. But it’s the view that makes this the place to eat while in Southcentral Alaska. |Had burger and a sandwich. Both were good. Fries were good too. Service was speedy and friendly. Plenty of parking.

We stopped in here for lunch on our way to Independence Mine. We didn't spend the night. It is a beautiful location and it looks like there are several hiking trails nearby. They were really busy when we were there. We ordered food at the counter and luckily found a table. We paid $22.75 for a grilled turkey sandwich, $12 for a bowl of chili, $2 for bread to go with the chili and $3 each for cans of soda. The sandwich was packed with turkey. Considering the location and amount of food, I thought the prices were reasonable. Service was a little slow (about 30 minutes) but they really were busy with hikers and spectators from a run finishing at the lodge. I wouldn't drive all the way up there for lunch, but it's definitely worth it if you're in the area.

Went in there to get a a little something to eat and enjoy spectacular views. I got a pie which was pretty good. Go there for the great views. The staff didn’t seem very welcoming. This place does get very crowded. Can’t comment on their accommodations as I didn’t stay there. Overall, worth a visit.

I had a really difficult time getting an idea about the cafe/restaurant before we went and want to pass on info for others||We were in Alaska mid June and on Hatcher pass just before the road was opened at the mine. We wanted to drive up and maybe do a small hike (many closed due to snow still nut the Hold Mint trail was easily accessible FYI) and wanted to check out the lodge and maybe eat here for a late lunch. I heard they had homemade soups/etc but couldn’t find a menu. When we got here I was happy to see they have a good number of things on the menu, specifically homemade soups and pie! We had a bowl of Chili and a bowl of tomato basil soup, very good! And had the mixed berry pie with ice cream, yum! (And I am picky on pie) I did not take a photo of the menu but saw other people enjoying a cheese plate and some fondue. They had beer and drinks including sodas, lemonade. Great view! Was very happy to get to eat here on our Hatcher pass drive.
