Our stay was for a family reunion the weekend of Jan. 25 qnd 26.It was a central location for people coming from Chicago, as far out on Long Island NY one can go, Ann Arbor, Michigan, DC and Maryland. There was 9 of us ages ranged from 7 to 78. Our stay ws perfect in every respect. Every employee we came in contact from several of the front desk representatives to housekeeping, to the waitress were very pleasant, helpful, and went the extra step to make sure we did not need anything. We spent a great deal of time both days we were there, in a little area in the lobby. That was not a problem with anyone and the front desk representative would come over periodically and asked if we wanted the fire place on or could she get anything for us. The hotel was very clean and most importantly quiet considering the renovations being done. The restaurant was nicely set up for the buffet. The waitress was alert, helpful and pleasant. I needed an accessible room and the front desk supervisor called me herself to talk about the accessible room that was available because a few rooms like that were taken out of use because of the renovations. Very good location for restaurants for dinner and about a mile from the entrance to Penn State and likewise to two major highways especially Rt 80 across PA. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone for a relax and convenient stay. Everyone in our party felt the same way. Ann K

For being near State College we were highly disappointed. There was still a lot of construction going on, even though it was supposed to end the weekend before.
We reserved a room with 2 queen beds and the beds were only doubles!
Usually Hilton Garden Inns are our go-to when choosing hotels, but now I will investigate a lot more before deciding.

Hotel is under renovation construction at present. My room was across the hall from the indoor pool, and the noise from kids in the pool was loud enough to be a distraction. Room was typical of a budget hotel and accommodations are dated. At $325/night not worth the price. Staff and the front desk were friendly and helpful. No complaints there.

We ended up here due to inclement weather on our way to another city in PA, and I was absolutely blown away by all aspects of our stay. The restaurant was delicious and our server provided incredible service. All employees are friendly and welcoming, providing top notch service. However, the true highlight was the front desk worker, Megan, who could not have been more kind and accommodating given our circumstances. She truly went above and beyond to see that we were well taken care of, and deserves the highest praise. If I were a manager, I would be offering her a raise or promotion pronto. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone needing a place to stay.

This property is being renovated—the restaurant, much of the lobby, and much of the first floor is closed, which they should’ve mentioned on the website when I made my reservation. There was significant inconvenience involved, as part of the parking lot is closed off as well.||Otherwise, the property is ok—a bit below the standards of a typical HGI, but not terrible. However, at the prices they charge, this did not feel like an upgrade from the Hampton down the road.

Warm and nicely decorated lobby for the holidays, including a cocoa bar! The room was clean and comfortable. Everyone I met on staff was very friendly! I will consider the Hilton Garden Inn State College when I am in the area again.

The layout of the hotel is deceptive. The lobby is at the end of the hallway to the rooms on the 2nd floor. The elevators are midway down the hallway of the rooms. It is nice that there is a door to that hallway to eliminate noise from the lobby area.

Construction in the hotel. No pool due to construction and semi trucks with refrigeration units running all night. Noisy. 1st floor has dogs in rooms that bark and walled off areas. The Restaurant wants $42 for a 12oz ribeye steak. The roadhouse up the road let you pick your own steak and it’s a 24oz for $29. All in all the place could use a far better approach. Staff is amazing though just a very crappy time to be stuck here all week. Luckily work paid for hotel but still a very unpleasant experience. Comfort in next door is a better option until the remodeling and construction is done. Call for an update before booking

Nice modern hotel close to highway and the downtown. Clean comfortable rooms. Nice bathroom with great ventilation. The breakfast was delicious and Matt was fantastic! There is a bottle filler in the gym, the pool was closed for renovation.
