We attended a motorcycle rally event in Superior, AZ. The hotel has nice fixtures and the room was very clean and uncluttered. Management went out of their way to accommodate our need with package delivery and late check in. Evvy and her staff assisted with questions on multiple occasions and was prompt with returning emails. The hotel location was near our function which made for convenience in being able to rest throughout the day without a drive. There are restaurants and cafe's near, with a variety of foods. I would recommend this hotel for customer service, location and cleanliness.

This historic hotel has been nicely restored. The rooms are a very nice size and beds are comfortable. Linens are very nice. It is a wonderful addition to Superior. One drawback is that the restaurant was not open when we went. We did find a lovely diner directly across the street for a full breakfast. For dinner, we at at a classic western bar down the street and had a decent meal.||||

I recently held a 50th Wedding Anniversary at the Historic Hotel Magma and could not be more pleased with the service provided by Evvy, the Hotel Manager and all the staff as we planned the event and held it this past weekend. We utilized the Tea Room and had a number of our guests spend the night, I received many compliments on the choice of the venue and the hotel. I recommend it highly if you want to hold a special event in Superior and want a professional staff and excellent hotel venue to make that happen with you.

Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere! During the night when I was in bed, someone opened my door with a key card and started to come in! You can imagine how frightening that is! I didn’t know what the heck was going on. I found out a minute later that she did the same thing to my friend in a room across the hall. We later found out it was the manager Evvy who opened our doors! When we complained the next day to that same manager, she apologized and said she didn’t think anyone was in the room. That’s what computers are for! I would expect if you are going to help yourself to just opening a guest room door that you would first confirm that that room is not occupied! To top it off, there were rowdy, drunken people coming in the back door right by my room, making all sorts of noise. When I tried to call the management to complain about the room intrusion and the outrageously loud people coming in the back door, there was NO ANSWER. Apparently, the hotel locks its doors at 6pm, everyone goes home and no one answers the phone. There is no manager on call or on staff that you can contact. The room is most definitely not worth $220 a night. The bathtub stopper doesn’t work, the bed is just on a frame with no box spring, so is bouncy and soft, the toilet doesn’t have a lid so you have to try to get dressed without your things falling in the toilet. The room I stayed in had no desk or other table where I could do my hair or put on makeup. The website is also misleading. There is no tea room - it was closed very soon after opening and now is only open for events; the hotel bar across the street (Barmacy) was only serving drinks and no food because their kitchen was closed. We should most definitely get a refund for all the inconvenience, but absolutely NOTHING was offered. The owner is from Chile and out of the country, so don’t expect to get any kind of satisfaction from the manager. I’m sure the manager isn’t going to call the owner and tell him she walked in on two guest rooms and caused havoc. The only two positive things I can say is the young man who checked us in was very professional and helpful; the woman in the breakfast room was lovely and very helpful. She also served as desk clerk to check us out. I would NEVER go back to this hotel.

This beautifully restored historic hotel is truly a sight to behold. The lobby is strewn with "before" photos so you can see just how much love, energy, and attention to detail went into bringing new life to this hotel. Our room was beautiful, bright, and clean. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating and the continental breakfast was a nice way to get the day started

This place was fun. You can really tell this was a passion project for the people who resurrected it. It looks like a movie set. The level of detail is intricate. Bummer Covid hit them. The restaurant looks like it was pretty nice. Hopefully they’re able to get it going again.

I was awoken at 9:00 pm by someone who walked in my room. The access was a key card so I was absolutely shocked. There is a phone and a button that said Front Desk. I called twice to complain but no answer. Then at 11:21 there were drunken and rowdy people in the hall so I again tried to call the Front Desk and there was no answer. Unbelievable. The next morning I asked the staff preparing the continental breakfast who the manager was and was told that there was no manager after 6:00 pm. Apparently the manager had come in the prior evening, needed something from a room, didn't check the computer to see if anyone was in the room, and just barged in. We got the name and phone number of the manager and called to complain. She said that by the front desk there was a card with a number to call if help was needed. But if you are in the room, and have a problem or an emergency, and there is a phone in the room with a button that says "Front Desk" and you call it, nobody answers it! That is just unheard of that there is no manager to deal with drunken and disorderly guests, people barging into your room, etc. We asked for some compensation for the horrible night at over $200 in this remote area, and she said she would contact the owner. However, nobody has contacted me. |In addition, the web site says there is a tea room and bar and there is none. Steer way clear of this hotel in Superior, Arizona.

I came to Hotel Magma from Los Angeles over Thanksgiving weekend and it was absolutely perfect! The hotel is newly renovated and they did a wonderful job. I am a huge U-Turn movie fan and was delighted to see this hotel was open so I could come check the town out and wander around for a couple days. I felt like I was staying in my wealthy friend's spare bedroom. I immediately took a long bubble bath when I got there to wash off the road (highly recommended). The bathtub is nice and long so you can stretch out. I took a shower the next day and the water pressure and shower head were perfection. The bed was sooo cozy, bed sheets were super nice, I slept like a log. I ate at the owners restaurant across the street. Five stars as well. I recommend this cute little historical town if you like to hike and take photos.
