Stayed 12 nights for work as Diamond member. Staff seem helpful and fairly friendly. Room is comfortable and fairly quiet as I got a room on top floor and away from elevator. The one issue I dislike was the weak shower water pressure. Staff showed me other rooms and water pressure was pretty weak in all the rooms shown. Finally staff switched me to room with handheld shower (still weak water pressure but at least pressure can be changed using handheld handle). Breakfast is pretty standard HIE fare. Pool was closed for renovation which was disappointing. Overall, staff were helpful but just beware of low water pressure.

Our overnight stay couldn't have been better. Easy access to the highway. Close to anything you'd need, yet far enough away from the highway and truck stops that you can't hear them. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice, comfortable and very well cleaned. The free breakfast was better than most. Great job to all involved. AAA+++

This hotel offered the best breakfast with real sausage, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, cinnamon rolls (that I love). The staff made sure that everything was filled as soon as it ran out. Oh, real pancakes too. Staff at the desk was great as well. I would say the room was pretty standard but ours was right where I requested it should be on the first floor. I couldn't even request that at the previous nites hotel chain. One negative was the bathroom with the trim around the bottom at the floor. Looked a little moldy and the fan ran all the time when you put on the light. Bottom the the bathroom door was in bad condition probably from moisture.

The rooms are relatively new and kept clean. The room I stayed in had only a shower, but the water pressure was adequate. The price was reasonable. Although it was a business stay, I would not hesitate to choose this place if I ever come to this neighborhood.

They have completed renovations on all Rooms on Floors 2, 3 and 4. Current renovation plan for 1st Floor is to start at the beginning of Summer 2025 per the Front Desk Staff.

We had a room on the 3rd floor with 2 Queen beds. Very, very comfortable new bed and very clean room and bathroom. Convenient location right off the highway and received a good discount for IHP & AAA member.

Only complaint is the breakfast buffet had 2 egg options (omelettes) but both had cheese inside them. Since I am allergic to dairy I couldn't eat either of them but normally I can turn to eating a couple hard boiled eggs instead. Unfortunately, they were completely out of hard boiled eggs also and had no other option. Would ask for attention to having a dairy free egg option available if they are putting cheese on the main egg dish - stock more hard boiled eggs please.

Front desk staff was very friendly and we enjoyed staying here as we traveled home from Mississippi.

It is a truism that when you have written as many reviews as I have that you rarely can write one about Something you consider “The BEST!” It is my pleasure to do so tonight!|| For years we have favored Holiday Inn Express when traveling within the United States. They are not necessarily the finest places to stay, but they hit our sweet spot of value for the money.|| Last night we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Marion, located at2609 Blue Heron Drive, Marion, IL 62959. We consider it the single best Holiday Inn Rxpress we have ever had the pleasure of staying at! ||The reasons for that statement are many, including:|• The building appears to be brand new! |• It is impeccably clean!|• The layout is fresh, modern, and very well-thought-out!|• Furnishings and fixtures are pleasant and tasteful.|• The staff are very friendly and are also very efficient and helpful!|• Operational systems are efficient and effective – all requested special requests were met without exception!|• The breakfast, while the standard corporate version, was executed perfectly.|• Parrking was free, plentiful, and convenient.|• The bed was very comfortable and extra pillows were provided with issue!|• Staff were knowledgeable of the surrounding area and equipped with preprinted restaurant lists, etc.|| Whole the total price was a bit high $147/night) that was largely due to the higher than usual taxes and fees imposed by the local jurisdictions and state.

Every staff member that we encountered was friendly and welcoming. The facilities are well kept. Breakfast choices were fresh and varied. Although, I must have missed any bananas. As a bonus a mockingbird with quite the repertoire sang outside our wing of this hotel both mornings we were here.

I began coming to Marion roughly once a month in March of 2024 and chose to stay at this location. This is a 3.5 hr ride from home and originally I was just impressed by how comfy the beds were. From there, I’ve stayed through construction (painless experience) and now get to enjoy the new look! What does it for me is the hospitality. My last visit I was exhausted after being on the road for two days and knew I would have to be on the road again the rest of the week and I just wanted to get in bed. Tara greeted me by name and I was taken aback “there’s no way she remembers me”. But she did and that small act of customer service, kindness and compassion is refreshing (it’s also what I teach for a living). So much so that I extended my stay another night and chose to add an extra hour into my next trip versus traveling and staying in the next town I was headed to.

Enjoying the free breakfast - Sausage and gravy is perfect every time and know that even housekeeping is going to greet you warmly and genuinely.

Good news: I will be back again and again.

Bad news: No other HIE is offering the level excellence this hotel is.
