Listed as a 3 star hotel/motel, but they're 5 stars in our book! Over they years, we've stayed here 5 - 10 times, and they've never disappointed. Rooms are very clean and updated, staff is always friendly and helpful, and their breakfast is actually quite decent. When we travel (business or vacation), we don't like being downtown, or in the heart of heavy traffic, so we look for places that are at least 20 minutes away. This has always been our "go-to" when visiting Pittsburgh, and we hope to keep it that way.

last minute stay here. Was a little worried about 2 recent reviews but these were complaints of charges and service. They admitted it was a very nice appearing hotel and stay otherwise good. Took a chance. It is a very nice appearing hotel inside. Great looking lobby. Usual breakfast fare that is included. Reasonable price. They upgraded us to king suite which was nice due to IHG status. 12 noon checkout instead of 11am not a problem. Very polite staff from check in, morning front desk and breakfast area attendant(very appreciative of tip). Room and bathroom nice and clean and bed comfortable. There is a sofa in our room but it would be nice to have another TV mounted on the wall in front of the TV. To watch TV you have to sit on the bed.
Would easily come here again.

I was very happy with the hotel until charges kept appearing on my account. Money was taken from my bank account two times without permission. The amount is not a small amount either. I called to discuss the issue and was told it would drop off by the next day since it was pending. The lady told me to call back if it wasn't gone by noon the following day. I did call back, and she told me it can take up to 3-4 days to be credited back to my account. When I questioned why the money was even taken from my account, she told me discrepancies. I do not even know what that means since I didn't have any discrepancies, but at that point I was too frustrated to continue trying to get more information.
The hotel is very nice. The rooms and lobby are clean and updated. The breakfast was not good, but the hotel itself made it easy to overlook the breakfast. The price is also very reasonable. The staff was very nice during out stay. I am disappointed to have to leave a review that is not wonderful. I never imagined things would go downhill due to unauthorized charges not once, but twice during my stay. I travel often, and I have never had to deal with charges continuing to be taken from my bank account.

Thw extra money taken from my account is now at $320. The regional manager was absolutely rude and did not listen or care. He continued to tell me they aren’t taking my money. I even offered to email screenshots of my banking. They were impossible to work with and I’m now left to dispute charges through my bank. I have NEVER had this experience at a hotel.

One of the best places I’ve stayed at. They say nothings perfect but when you are searching for hotels to book based off reviews, please understand that this place will not disappoint you. From the best hospitality/customer service, delicious breakfast (like a home cook meal), clean amenities, great parking. I did not find not one con about this place. This place is a must stay!

I've stayed here a few times, it's now my #1 choice for the Pittsburgh area. While it's a little far from my friends, it's great because there is a mini fridge in each room and the rooms are so spacious. Larger than typical hotels of all brands. If bunking with more than 1 couple, it's great that the rooms have a small sitting area with a sofa and there is plenty of room on either side of the 1 and 2 beds. Bathrooms are also nicely sized. Plenty of room to spread out. Great stay! I'll be booking here again in the future!

Entrance, reception and breakfast area appear to be more recently renovated/spruced up. Fireplace was nice. Breakfast food was standard faire. Table flower/greenery was too large for size table(s) available. Staff very nice and responsive.

Guest Room
Sleeper sofa was stained, broken and not even comfortable to sit on a sofa, let alone sleep on. Furniture and carpet throughout room was stained. Lots of lamps, however each had to be turned on individually. Outlet access was less than ideal (the ones on lamps just don't stay connected to device plugs). Bathroom had some questionable cleanliness concerns (could just be that it was old/worn) and poor lighting. Dove products in shower were nice. Hand soap dispenser on wall was not ideal for kids or shorter guests. Very little noise heard in room and we were next to elevator.

This Holiday in express was the best I ever stayed at over many years of being an IHG points member. The hotel was not new, but looked new. The room seemed sound proof and I slept better here than at home! Perfect place to stay if you are on your way to or from Pittsburgh. We stayed because we went to a Steelers game at Heinz Field and everywhere closer to the city was too expensive. It was still very convenient as we had a long drive back to Virginia and in the morning after a great nights sleep that breakfast area had a pancake printer! Push a button and a minute later out pops 2 delicious pancakes! Would definitely return to same hotel in summer for a Pittsburgh Pirates game.

The hotel is in a good location close to food, business and the expressways. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. They accommodated my early check in without trouble and had a room ready to go. The room was overall nice and clean, my only complaint is the pillows are too soft, but that's pretty common at most hotels I stay at.
I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone visiting the area.
