Our original plan was to drive from Atlanta to Chicago in 1 day. However, we hit the ice storm in the midwest and southern Illinois and decided to stay out for the night instead of risking it. We booked this hotel online and arrived in 10min. The front desk was super nice and understanding. Upon request with room away from noise, she was very accommodating and able to find us a quiet room. The room was very clean and comfortable.

The breakfast lady (Patricia) was super nice. Due to the ice storm, the road was unsafe to drive on. We had no way to get dinner. Patricia offered us spaghettis she made for the staff. It was such a heartwarming gesture. In breakfast time, Patricia kept the items fully stock and kept the area super clean. She was just a delightful person and doing above and beyond.

We had a wonderful stay and were graceful for this hotel and staff.

The breakfast was really good. I was able to stuff myself with all the goodies offered. The bed and pillows were comfortable and soft. Having the lounge chair was a nice touch to be able to relax after a long day of work.

Our experience at the Salem Holiday Inn Express was exactly what we needed after a day on the road… Check In staff was helpful to get a room that fit our needs, the room was clean, comfortable and restful… Bathroom was very clean and well stocked… Breakfast was very good with a good variety of items especially the cinnamon rolls!!… Highly recommend this hotel for your next visit to the Salem area

We were traveling home from Chicago and ran into snow and ice. After hitting a few slick, icy patches on the highway we decided to get off the road and wait out the storm.
Rooms were clean. They are renovating the motel so there are boxes everywhere. I was disappointed that they didn't have a hot tub. The indoor pool was way too cold for me. Breakfast was good with lots of variety. A good breakfast automatically earns a higher rating for a motel.

The room was fine. Smelled fresh and clean. The breakfast was NOT as advertised. No cinnamon rolls. No pancakes. Almost no hot food available an hour before the breakfast hours were finished. No dairy milk substitutions. Only earl Grey or green tea available. When I pay more to stay at a nice hotel, I expect to receive what is advertised. Leaving hungry.

Great place to stay with the indoor pool for the grandkids. Breakfast included just wish they had pork patties sausage instead of turkey. Very convenient for trip to see my siblings for holidays. Little pricey but you get what you pay for.
