Jabo's BBQ and Seafood - Hernando Beach, Florida

Put a call in order to Jabo’s for a boil and collards. I ended up needing to pick it up the next day due to a family emergency he had. The restaurant has the wrong address on Apple Maps and I ended up going to the wrong place. The owner not only gave me a very generous portion for closing shop early he ended up coming to where I was to provide me the food. Now I hesitated putting this in the review as I’m sure that is not his regular service LOL however it was a above and beyond experience especially because he was in the middle of a family emergency that week and I could tell he was very stressed, not with his customers but in his eyes I could see how tired he was. He was extremely funny and kind. Oh yeah I almost forgot, the foood!!!! 10/10 easy. Collards were best I’ve had in a WHILE - and I know good collards. Hot fresh food - Potatoes were soft but not over cooked, sauce was delicious, corn was sweet and juicy, crabs cooked perfect and eggs cooked perfectly. Thank you so much!!!

Got the pulled pork and chicken sandwiches with beans and Mac n Cheese for sides. Both were delicious and Smokey. They came with a tasty BBQ sauce on the side which was perfect because we had a 25 minute drive back home. The sandwich was still hot and the bread wasn’t soggy, which normally happens when it sits for a few. The beans were sweet and tasty and the Mac was perfect. Highly recommend and will be back again soon!

I was looking for a restaurant, but it was a food truck with a warm welcoming voice of Mr. Jabo. I told him I was diabetic and he immediately directed me towards some healthy grilled fish with beans and coleslaw. It was delicious.
There were a lot of regulars who were familiar with the owner. My son ordered the smoked mullet. It was well seasoned and a large portion. We will definitely be coming back to this establishment.

Food was great. We felt bad we couldnt give him a tip since he didnt give us the option when we checked out & we didnt have cash. He told us next time if u like the food just come back. He is very nice and food was really great. A must visit food truck.

As a Maryland blue crab lover I was in the mood for some blue crabs on the Gulf side of Florida. My wife saw Google reviews of JABO’s in Hernando Beach. The seafood platter (fish, shrimp, scallops) and the steamed blue crabs were so good we almost ate the shells. I will be a weekly repeat customer.

Ordered the 2.5 lbs garlic blue crab. All the crabs smelled fishy & sour. The meat was mushy and slimy also. Tried eating the sides and it didn’t have any flavor or seasoning what so ever..$43 down the drain.

This is the best barbecue that I have found in the 6 years that we have lived in Florida. The baby back ribs had the perfect smoke stripe, excellent dry rub recipe, the brisket was "medium fatty" (another excellent barbecue offers lean, medium or fatty brisket) and smoked excellently. I added a pat of butter and some hotsauce to the collards. Looking forward to further exploring your menu!

Absolutely delicious carryout. There's no dine in option at this food truck, but frankly, with how good it is, who cares? Between the bbq, seafood boils, and smoked fish, we had no complaints--and very little conversation as we all chowed down. Reasonably priced, generous portions
