Beautiful old town. Way too crowded. It took over an hour to find parking. We didn't get to see much. Went on the train ride. It was cold, so we sat inside. We could barely see out the windows because of the dirt on the windows. The restroom on the train stank so bad we moved to another car but it was so full we couldn't sit together. If we go back, it would be a mid week trip only.

Excellent experience! In Jim Thorpe, the people in the visitors center and at the train station booth were so nice and informative about what to expect on the train rides and the length of ride. My daughter visits with me from WV. Twice we have taken a trip in the fall season just to take a train ride and see the beautiful colors of leaves changing. The visitors center was so helpful about the history and current events of the town and were to eat good food!
Great memories made here with her!

Jim Thorpe is a wonderfully picturesque town. Came here with local friends to browse several small shops on an absolutely frigid December day. We want to return when the weather is more comfortable, and town more populated. The tourist attractions look very interesting.

Oh, Jim Thorpe. I love your beautiful views, but your parking situation is beyond horrible. The Lehigh Valley Gorge train ride was sold out when we arrived and you can't purchase tickets online the same day. Stupid rule by the way. The trolley tour was sold out. It was difficult even entering some of the stores as lines piled out the doors. At a coffee shop a sign on door read 45 min wait from door. Really? Walking around was nice but if you don't like walking? Don't go. It's very hilly everywhere.

Super packed. A bit over crowded to really find parking and enjoy it. So I didn’t stop.

Not terrible, just plain boring. Feels like minimal effort was made here. The space has potential, but the design choices for the center are underwhelming at best with no real attempt to capitalize on the space and its history. Go for the train; give the center a miss.
