Today was their opening day and La Leona in my opinion is exactly what my hometown of Winnebago needed. They are still waiting for their liquor license that will be established in a few weeks and for now they are cash only. The restaurant was clean, tidy, and very open feeling. Food was great and worth the wait, obviously their first day open is going to be very busy. Hugo our waiter and everyone else we came in contact with were extremely kind and hardworking. Our food was all delicious and authentic. Pricing was very affordable as well. We will definitely be back to try the margaritas when available and look forward to bringing friends. Overall our experience was great, can't wait to return another evening. Thank you La Leona!

On our way home from Galena,IL we stopped for lunch here and we were pleasantly impressed by the quality of the food and the restaurant. We all ordered vegetarian options and every dish was delicious. Homemade warm chips and salsa were brought to the table shortly after being seated and both tasted authentic and perfect.
If this restaurant was in our area we would be loyal patrons. We loved this restaurant.

Great spot for Mexican food. We had Margaritas, Enchiladas Supremas, Chimichanga, Kids Burrito, and Fried Ice Cream. Everything was excellent, came out fast and with great service. We will be back.

Fun atmosphere and they play traditional Mexican Music. Great food and reasonable prices. Restaurant and restrooms are very clean. Employees are very kind and welcoming. We accidentally locked our keys in our truck and the waiter offered to help us try to get them out. When it didn’t work the owner offered us a ride home. It was so kind of them. Our neighbor came and gave my husband a ride home to get the spare keys but we appreciated the waiter and the owner being so kind. We highly recommend this place. I really like the having a Mexican Coke with a slice of lime. It is one of my favorite drinks,

Visiting from Florida stopped in with family for dinner. What a wonderful charming place. Everything was perfect. Service was fast and friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend.

Their food is excellent. Always hot and fresh. Servers are super friendly, we especially like Fernando. We’ve never had to wait more than 15 minutes for our food, and the prices are fair. We highly recommend!
