. shippee is one of the best first-year housing locations on campus - compared to north, northwest, and towers. feels more like a hotel inside because of the carpeted floors. you share a bathroom with less people. c rooms. bathroom ceilings can be moldy but that's an issue anywhere on campus. being next to downtown and price chopper is amazing. if you're a stem major (im not) classes are really far.

This hall is killing its residents. If you’re not suffering from heat stroke, you are fighting an ongoing war with bugs, and if you’re not doing that, you are battling a headache from the mold in the building. Could not be farther away from rest of campus, but at least you’ll get your steps in! It’s 1.2 miles away from the only open dining hall! Sometimes you get extra lucky, and the building won’t let you in because the scanner doesn’t work! There is only 4 washers for the entire building. The people who work here do not talk to you, or care about you. The bathrooms are foul. The power goes out. The water is always warm and feels dirty. If you ever email housing about switching dorms, or getting an air conditioner, they will simply tell you “no <3”. Administration here hate you. Live here if you hate yourself!!!

Armin and Linda are tripping with their reviews. This place is awful, live literally anywhere else. My will to live deteriorated when I stepped in this god forsaken building. When I moved in, I had to clean up fingernails off of my desk. UCONN hates the residents. If you are truly an honors student, you would use your brain and live anywhere else. I have never seen a college dorm this bad, and I’ve been to 20+ dorms at 10+ different campuses. #huskypride #sadhusky

Hot. Gross. Bathrooms are not cleaned. Temperature doesn’t go below 95°. The water is always hot. This may sound like a good thing but it’s not when everything else is hot. There are bugs. Found a cockroach. There is definitely mold in the building. I get a headache every time in there. There’s a good smell to it. The elevator inspection is sus I’m pretty sure. Only the men get ACs.

If you’re on the front side of the building, you hear the sidewalk beeping all night. It sounds like an air horn. Half the time the scanners don’t work so you can’t get into the building. There is power outages. The water is making my skin break out. It’s ridiculous. Good luck if you’re placed in shippee.
