This place is an amazing spot to explore with kids! Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and professional, handling all the kids’ curious questions with patience and enthusiasm. From the outside, the building may seem unassuming, but once you step inside—that’s where the real magic happens!

There are plenty of fascinating displays showcasing old artifacts to explore while you wait for your tour, which is conducted in groups. The highlight of the experience was when they turned off the lights to reveal different glowing elements under ultraviolet light—it was absolutely mesmerizing! Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I highly recommend!

Amazing!! We booked with a reservation for 9:30 and they were right on time. We actually only had 2 other people in the group so it was very quiet and calm. The tour guide (Abby?) was very sweet, informative, and patient as our four year old had a lot of questions and statements. The cave itself is unique and the river is definitely a wonder. we really enjoyed the gift shop and overall had a great experience! We try and visit different caves when in different areas, and this one was a great experience!

From start to finish, our visit was fantastic. The tour takes you deep into the caverns, where stunning rock formations, shimmering mineral deposits, and the mysterious underground river create an otherworldly atmosphere.

Our guide was outstanding—knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the cave’s history and geology. They shared fascinating facts and even a few fun legends about the caverns, making the experience both educational and entertaining. The entire staff was warm and welcoming, adding to the overall charm of the visit.

After the tour, we spent time browsing the gift shop, which is a treasure trove of unique minerals, fossils, and souvenirs. It’s a great place to pick up something special to remember the trip.

A cute, family owned and operated spot for a casual cavern tour.
My boyfriend and I had never been on a cavern tour, so we weren't sure what to expect going into this. We arrive right on time to a nearly empty parking lot in front of the welcome center. It was Superbowl Bowl Sunday...in Pennsylvania, so we expected as much.
It was just us and one other guy, which made for a nice and intimate tour. Our guide was such a sweet young man, probably a student - he did a great job and was knowledgeable as well as funny the whole time.
The tour was nice! A little underwhelming to be honest, but it's a long cave with rocks and mysterious flowing water, I'm not sure what would have made it more exciting unless you're a geology fanatic. It was a good experience and we learned a good amount about formations and the history of the caverns within about an hour.
The gift shop was small with cute souvenirs and many gems and minerals to browse. It looked like there was a custom jewelry station as well for high-end faceted gems. I got a nice ceramic mug and we were on our merry way.

I'd give this place a solid 6/10 for 2 adults that like nature. I wish that there were more things to do and see, but maybe activities were limited due to the season. Worth the price and would be a fun family activity if you're in the area!

I recently visited Lost River Caverns, and it was an unforgettable experience! Nestled in a serene part of Pennsylvania, the caverns offer a beautiful blend of natural beauty and geological wonder. The guided tour takes you through the underground passages, where you can see stunning stalactites, stalagmites, and unique rock formations. The tour guide was knowledgeable, giving great insight into the history and formation of the cave, which really enhanced the experience.

It's a small privately owned cave. The tour takes about 20 minutes. Inside has a very well made walkway with guardrails and lights. Our guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Kids had a blast. Place is unique and well worth visiting.

This was a lot of fun. It was very informative. I liked the sarcasm our tour guide had. My concern is we had some rowdy kids with un-parenting parents who let the kids talk thru the tour and touch rocks. I felt bad for the guide bc we could not properly hear her. The rocks that are affected by UV light were very Interesting and the fact that they do not not know where the river flow to was cool info.

We visited the Lost River Caverns recently and enjoyed our experience here. It is best to purchase tickets in advance as they have a timed entry, especially on weekends when it gets busy. The walk through the caverns is a bit slippery but overall easy, with just one flight of stairs. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The caves are at a nascent stage for formations but still very beautiful. We could even hear the Lost River flowing and learnt all about its history. The part where the guide switches off lights in the cave is very cool! The visitor centre has restrooms and shopping. Two parking lots are available, one right opposite the visitor centre and another one just a little ahead to the right of the visitor centre.
