This Agency is about as useless to family’s and the children they pertain to care about, , I was a foster grandmother to my granddaughters for two years as this agency nitpicked denied me Respite basically dictated our every move as I was continually asked, by my caseworker, will I adopt the girls do on so fourth , my caseworker, Maria said, maybe the girls would be better off with a younger couple so on so forth, what a sad broken system Illinois , DCFS and their sidekick Lutheran social services decided to paint false accusations of my character and inadequate supervision as a reason to move them from my care , the truth is , I had been in a cyber security issue as I had told the case worker about this as well with my home security system , I reported this incident to cybersecurity , DCFS didn’t like this at all, as the dcfs worker came to my home a day after the report was made to the proper authorities two years ago demanding video intel of my two year old granddaughter as this so called professional refused to leave without the cameras data , she was a bully ,and walked all over my rights , she didn’t care she worked for the God Almighty DCFS, my caseworker showed up two hours hours later , they were both talking amongst each other. I should’ve called the cops but I didn’t , the DCFS investigator left after 5 1/2 hours of being in my home , my little girls cares put on back burner as she demands data if my home private security system, I was in total shock as my caseworker basically told me to sign the girls over or you will not see the girls, so I signed , they did remove my granddaughters from my custody that day , told my little girls I was sick , to this day LSS continues moving my granddaughters in and out of different foster homes every three to six months for the last twenty six months with very little to no communication to the parent and definitely no communication with me as I have called numerous times asking if I could see my granddaughters for a grandparents visit , told the agency I would do whatever it takes to see my little granddaughters ,well , it’s been two years no visit , I called and called , plus spent a sum of cash in court ,only to be delayed and that meant more money would of had to be spent on a lawyer , why? Seems to me that their caseworkers , DCFS need to be investigated, as they know that there are families related to these children that are willing to take them in and provide a good home , as I did , you still denied me access because you can , I had found out a year Ago that the cyber security issue I had at my residence , was in fact Lutheran social services fault … as lutheran social services had reported a cyber issue of that there foster parents and children’s identity and medical records were compromised , thanks for letting me know, ,No they do not care about family, grandparents, or most importantly, the children they service, as the other comments have mentioned, I have been put on the side burner like these parents, they use the excuse there are no grandparents rights in illinois , then turn right around and mimic we believe in family and reunification with family. No you don’t , that’s a sales pitch …. no one should not have to worry about there kids or grandchildren in care of the State of Illinois with the agencies Lutheran social services, as they knew how much those little girls meant to me and how much I had meant to my little girls , to this day deny us access , no phone calls Nothing….

Besides the guy at the front desk there is nothing good about this place. The caseworkers aren't compassionate whatsoever nor do they have the best interest of your children. They drop the ball more times than not but then make it a point to hold it against you if you are even so much as late for a meeting. They do not communicate and leave you in the dark about everything until the very last minute. The caseworkers do not listen or even take into consideration your situation. The ones I have dealt with are very argumentative for no reason other than to argue a point that is irrelevant. They prolong returning children back to their homes even after telling the children themselves in person they get to go home. I have nothing good to say about this agency or any others affiliated.

This organization does exactly what it's meant to do. My case worker who's name I won't use I watched this women flirt with my abusive ex in the court house... luckily I had a friend with me who witnessed this. She made up lies falsified documents and dismissed everything I said. She dismissed my concerns about my child had me take classes, miss work for those classes amongst so many other things.
After the cause was closed she called my phone harassing me that she needed me to sign papers i talked with my lawyer he said the case was closed she dont need anything, again my friend was with me who heard everything... dcfs and lss catholic charities and all of their affiliates are organized and calculated. They don't care about your children. My son died under the Supervision of my Exs mother and still lss dismissed it.
*They are unprofessional and incompetent*

Some very nice workers but also those who are not very good at their job. Most of the toys need batteries or are not working. Not the biggest rooms for more than 2 children. This place changed my life but it also changed my babies.. never give up some of these case workers just need a little understanding and knowledge
