This dog friendly hotel was a nice surprise. The lobby was beautifully decorated and a free breakfast was provided. The breakfast sandwiches were delicious and I loved the latte machine! The rooms are comfortable and mine included a small kitchenette including stove, microwave and small fridge with freezer. We also had a sitting area. It is true that the rooms are slightly dated but overall I would stay here again. It is a convenient stopping point for my visits to North Carolina. This hotel is close to I95 or I can choose to head towards the more scenic Bridge Tunnel that ends up in Virginia Beach.

My family did not have a pleasant experience staying at the MainStay Suites in Dover, DE. Upon arrival, there were two males smoking marijuana outside the main lobby. The front desk staff was pleasant but that is the only positive. The hallways smelled of cigarette smoke, despite the hotel being non-smoking, and our room was less than desirable. Although the bathroom looked clean, the carpet in the room was filthy, the chair at the desk had a huge rip in the upholstery, and the two standing lamps had speckles of black mold all over the lamp shades. Additionally, in the middle of the night, my husband and I smelled marijuana smoke that must have come through the ventilation system. We will never stay at this hotel again!

We were awoken in the night by a domestic dispute in the room next door which ultimately resulted in the police having to be called. In addition there was strong smell of marijuana in the halls. Not a very good experience.

Positive: A nice room with a small but well equipped kitchenette Negative: The lock on the door was faulty and required a staff member to come open it. No maintenance staff was sent to address the issue and it took 10 to 15 swipes of the key to finally open despite the showing green and sounding like it moved. Unacceptable

Dated rooms. Furnishings dated. Wifi quality was poor. Smelled of disinfectant. Cheap place if you book in advance. Not bad. The front desk was helpful. Breakfast was bad. Coffee was bad. Choices were limited. At a price point it can still work.

We ran into a small issue with the ac vent filters being full of dust but a housekeeping member came almost instantly to fix the issue and everything else was great thank you, and until next time room 311...enjoy the Lil puppy I made with 2 hand towels

Awesome and spacious rooms. Very clean with a full kitchen. Staff was very friendly and cheerful. Breakfast was really good; they had a wide variety of many things. I highly recommend this hotel. Definitely I will be back when I am in the area. Can't say enough good things about the hotel.
