We decided to stop in spur of the moment last week and try out Matilda's, and we were really glad we did. I think embracing the cozy feel works super well with the floorplan of the business (old 8-Bit so the multiple rooms of varying sizes). And the decor and music really enhance the vibes.

We tried a couple of the signature cocktails, both of which we really liked (particularly 1, ah ah, 2 ah ah). There were plenty of other choices that I'm sure we'll go back and try as well.

We had some ranch chex mix, which was a great bar snack and really fits the ethos. We're looking forward to getting some ruffles and french onion dip next time.

I finally got to go here yesterday — I have been wanting to since I first heard it opened. It was just incredible! The atmosphere is everything I have ever wanted from an experience going out with friends. The place is packed with nostalgic decor, board games, and excellent staff. I did not order any food this time, but the drinks were fabulous. I will definitely be returning many times.

This is a cute little 70s-themed cocktail lounge—perfect for hanging out with friends. The drinks are fairly priced and there’s a wide variety to choose from. I highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in Peoria!

Amazing atmosphere with a very personable staff. Cozy and retro without being ironic. Enjoyed the drinks (especially the Salty Dog). Such a wonderful hidden treasure that i don't want to recommend too much for fear it'll become TOO popular. 🙂

I recently visited this cozy 70s-themed cocktail lounge, and I was really impressed! The cocktails were fantastic—well-crafted and flavorful, with a good variety of options. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed, making it easy to unwind. Overall, a great place to kick back, enjoy some great drinks, and experience a fun retro atmosphere!

This is the place Peoria has needed for so long!

The sweetest atmosphere, cozy with vintage furniture and decor. Hidden gems all over, like a typewriter to leave a message, and a vcr to play the old movies you watched at grandma’s house.

The cocktail list has got 70s classics and beautifully curated house cocktails that will rotate. The current list are all nods to Sesame Street characters.
My favorite is Scram! A delightfully trashy riff on a classic daiquiri - rum, sugar, lime, and a bit of pickle brine. Truly the best cocktail I’ve had in years.
The one named after Count has berry jam and tequila - so refreshing!

The drinks are on the slightly smaller side, which I love cause then I get to try more. They’re priced appropriately too - all drinks are around $10-13. We are so lucky Whitney has created this absolute gem, her and her team make this place so special.

Matilda’s is the nostalgic cocktail bar that Peoria needed. The drinks are just as comfortable as the vibes. It’s a bar crafted by an incredible bartender meant to be beautifully simple. The drinks are amazing, the vibes are amazing, and I will absolutely come back.
