Montezuma Castle Visitor Center - Camp Verde, Arizona

Very small but meaningful. Unfortunately, the Visitors Center was closed. They were renovating and had not moved into the smaller trailer yet. But the Park Rangers were there and helpful. Again, this is a very small park, and when we visited, it was over 100°. We walked the path, took pictures, and learned about the significance of this location. I'm glad we visited as we learned about this concept of cave dwelling in the cliffs several times as we visited Arizona & southern Utah.

There was a gentleman helping us out with our yearly pass at the front counter, such a friendly guy. He went out of his way and helped us with no issues.

Then, while we were walking in the park, a female ranger came out and was knowledgeable on her stuff. It was nice to talk to her as well. They are both so friendly, give them a raise, haha.

If only have the option between here and the well that's about 10 mine away, I'd say to come here for sure. It was cool to learn about this castle and see it in real life. This is a very easy and light hike you could do it in flip flops if you wanted since the whole thing is paved. If you're there during the 120 degree, like we were, stay hydrated! Thankfully, there is quite a bit of shade on this trail.

Amazing to see this national monument and to realize a community thrived here for many, many years. Parking was easy but I am sure on the weekends it could get busy. The visitor center gift shop had lots of history and there is a nice pathway along the river.

Great place for all ages, the walk through and back is mostly flat with a small section at the end on an incline. I'm and out it about a 15min walk. There's a museum with the history of the castle and a souvenir shop. Outside are bathrooms, they were clean too. Everyone working in there are very friendly.

This was a great place to visit. They even had a mini version with an explanation of the daily life during that time, which was excellent.

Short walk, but the castle and dwellings are just amazing. Clean and well maintained. Dog friendly.

$10 per person, the gift shop is the real gem it has some great stuff and honestly wasn't too expensive all proceeds go to the park, they have a clean bathroom, and a water bottle fill up station just outside which I highly recommend people use as you need water, the trails are all pretty well maintained and marked. Noticed some wrapped trees because ignorant people who can't keep their hands to themselves decided to vandalize the trees! People be respectful. The castle itself is fascinating and can be viewed from afar actual entrance was stopped in the 50s....because guess what people decided to vandalize things. Anyways your ticket also gives you entrance to the Well which unfortunately we didn't have too much time for, but over all a cool stop.

This place is truly a national treasure, telling the history of how the native American lived about 900 years ago.
I am very impressed to see the site. It's a small 1/3 miles loop, however, rich of the history.

If you hold the America the Beautiful, The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass, you don't have to pay an admission fee.

Since we arrived at the time it's opened, there was no line.
