The ship is outdated and falling apart, the food is insanely low quality and they have zero fun activities to do while stuck on their ship. You would think they would do some upgrades , but they don't bother. Rooms are seriously lacking and dirty. The bathrooms are seriously gross and smell funky.
They don't care about passengers , the refuse to own up to their mistakes and they make excuses for their horrible actions. Pay the money to go on a better cruise line. Don't waste your money on a cruise that will ditch you in a foreign country.

Unfortunately, we will NEVER cruise with Norwegian again. We have been on several cruise lines and decided to try Norwegian’s Hawaii itinerary this last week. This was by far our worst cruising experience.
-The ship was extremely outdated and lacked fun and activities.
-The food was much lower quality than other competing cruise lines.
-Our itinerary was completely changed and all of our shore excursions were canceled. -Booking a Suite is a complete waste of money. The amenities are not worth it and the rooms are smaller than if you were to book two cabins. It would be cheaper to book two cabins.
-We did not like the freestyle dining. We like getting to know our servers and having a set dining time and table.
-The staff is not nearly as friendly/happy as other cruise lines.
-The shows were average and only about 45 mins long.
-It was a very expensive cruise for what you get.

In summary, Norwegian Cruise Line does not offer the luxury experience that other cruise lines do.

The cruise was fun, and the low-level workers are fantastic! But, overall, the food was nowhere near where I expected it to be (from people who had cruised Norwegian prior to COVID). Also, the cruise line mischarged us many times, which was frustrating and had us at the customer help desk sorting through it when we wanted to just relax and vacation.

The price is probably mid for a cruise, and the staff was great at the low level, but overall experience wasn’t great. I will definitely explore other cruise options before going again.

Terrible cruise line. Nickel and dime, nickel and dime. Everything was extra. It's not enough that you spent $10,000 on a cruise, you have to spend more after you get on board. A $20 per person, per day, auto-gratuity was added (wasn't mentioned when we purchased the cruise)...
The tendering process was horrible in Cabo. The stop in Mazatlan was too short and the stop in Ensenada was too long (what a dump).

Went aboard the sun to Alaska and it was our first vacation in 18 years without our kids. All the ports were bought out by ncl and all excursions through them take 40 percent!!! They go to pristine places were they shouldn't b disturbing the environment!!! The further from port u went the cheaper things got and more of it went to the town. We spent more hours in port on the smaller islands that had limited options. Most of these towns had enough trouble getting goods and removing waste that made me feel like more of annoyance to these poor ppl who just wanna be left alone. The boat was big and kept you busy so places weren't overpopulated but still limited options of anything fun to do until after 10 most nights or on days when u plan to be off the boat. No one here is from America which makes communication difficult and more proof they don't care to put money back into our own community!!! They did a lot to stay busy and clean things like the floor and painting with tremendous attempts to encourage ppl to use sanitizers but that does very little when they don't wipe any high contact touch points like doors or elevator or even much inside our cabins!!! I thought it was strange they didn't use garbage bags n only made our bed... which was a nuisance in itself since I hate the sheets tucked in and the pillow I used between my knees was moved everyday! Not really a big deal other than it happened everyday at random times with no door hanger to refuse these services. No Internet and a nightmare trying to do anything onboard when they won't let u use cash!!! Our credit card on file was locked almost instantly due to bank worrying about out of state charges. They applied my 50 dollar credit towards something I didn't even acknowledge and when I tried to use the rest towards photos became just a huge complication. Speaking of they did very little to take photos until after their specials expired and with very little warning to prepare to even look half decent. Now to the food and water... after using our friend Google I came to find out they make the food with higher fat to "loosen" you up to prevent clogging drains. Which makes most all food taste weird. I am a little picky but 9 days of what seems like the same food and flavors it got old quickly. We tried 1 of the free sit down restaurants which gave the smallest portions and strange and uncomfortable service with people who didn't seem to enjoy being there. The water is from the sea and done correctly to purify but just made it taste bad. Being an avid water drinker it was inconvenient to not have a place to refill my bottle. I had one of the dirtiest cups so I imagine it's pretty unsanitary to fill my bottle with their cup!! They offered free juices and milk in the morning that weren't offered at night which was annoying. Their fruit was terrible none was very ripe and many were over ripe!!! Also with only 1 place to smoke it was obnoxious especially since they were smoking in the casino on the same floor as my room which made the whole place stink!!! This was the most expensive trip that I spent more time in my room mostly from sea sickness but limited enjoyment doing the free options. Please do your research and remember this big boat is soooo bad on the environment and learned they burn more gas in one day than we do in a lifetime!!!! People onboard we're not very clean as we noticed people everywhere coughing and picking their noses and touching everything so my boyfriend and I both contracted covid from this trip.... soooo disappointed ☹️

Since booking the cruise was hounded by 'personal helper' to book excursions when I responded that all I would need to know is how to find the port, they didn't even bother responding. Then I was having issues with booking excursions on the website for tour groups and tried calling the line to which the clueless American lady responded she can't help me bc she can't see my screen. So the staff doesn't know how their excursion booking works and why I am not seeing a discount applied that I was promised?
So far doesn't look great and I am set to sail next week. No wonder cruise industry is dying with this kind of service. First time trying a cruise but seems like I doubt I will be doing this again with service like this and definitely will be recommending everyone else against it. Everyone I know hasn't been on a cruise yet bc we are in early 30s so definitely not going to entice them to go with service like this. Thanks Norwegian for such below average servi and good luck surving as a business.

In December we cruised with Norwegian thru the Panama Canal and to other wonderful places. The reason I am not giving this more stars is primarily because of the Panama City port. It will probably be 2 years before it is completed and everything about getting on the ship is problematic. We were on buses with thousand others that SLOWLY moved up a dirt road to get to the security unloading point. It took hours…yes as in more than 1 hour..to get to an unloading point. Security was a matter of taking your luggage from the bus to security which was under temporary tents. It was very exhausting and frustrating. Once onboard things were much better. If you are thinking of doing this particular cruise I would seriously consider waiting a year or two till the port is finished. I was very surprised Norwegian even offered cruises from here considering the port status.
