At first I thought the guy was giving me a decent deal in a pinch, he gave me a price for 7 days and said there was a $300 hold charged me $850 and after I returned the vehicle total balance ended up being $805 so that means $345 was put into someone's pocket because it was never credited to my account. Don't ever trust a guy named Marc.

Payless car rental at sky harbor airport in phoenix was awful. Only two agents working with a very long line of customers. Upon return - no one could tell me what I needed to do to officially return the vehicle. Not impressed.

I've rented from this facility several times and they've always been great. This time, I had a reservation with Enterprise (my company has a rate with Enterprise) that was cancelled by them an hour before I was supposed to pick it up. I was in a panic as I had to drive to catch a flight at lunch time. I stopped in to Payless and Mark (I believe) was getting cars ready for the morning. It was 15 minutes before they opened but he was still willing to help. He said he didn't have any vehicles available but I explained the situation and he said he might be able to help. He personally went out and pulled a few items of trash out of the vehicle that a previous customer left and said I could take that one if I didn't mind it not being vacuumed out. I said I couldn't care less! Mark went out of his way to help me in a tough situation, good luck finding that type of customer service at the bigger rental car facilities!

This will be our second time renting from Payless and we always have had a great experience. Clean, reliable vehicles. Friendly service in the office. Highly recommend for any rental vehicle you may need.

This is the worst place to rent a car from. In the past they were great for us, but no more. Our car was in the shop to be worked on and we rented a van from them. When we rented it , we were told it had not been cleaned. We needed it, so we didnt mind. I had cleaned from under the seats, found a hair brush, cleaned some other items. We had it for a month and when my husband took it back with my mom they were told we would be charged a $300 cleaning fee! They took it to car wash to clean it out. My mom said it was clean when they returned it. Today we get a call from Marc, saying we owe $395 for a $200 cleaning fee and that a camera was found to be missing in the front of the car and they had to wait for that to be ordered and put in. This is ridiculous. We just had to pay over $1000 to rent it and cleaned it out and now your telling us there is a cleaning fee and replacement of a camera? We had not hit anything or caused any damages the camera could have just fell out and yet we are expected to pay for it?! This is ridiculous! Its a tough time of year for us, especially with our main vehicle sitting in the shop waiting on parts to be repaired. Never again! We will never rent from this poor service place anymore! We should have been called and warned about this to begin with instead of blindsiding us.

Got a vehicle under insurance vehicle rental coverage and upon return was informed would need to pay taxes. Was not told this when signing papers prior and it was still covered under the provided amount from insurance. Payless employees do not tell you everything upon signing so be careful when using this location.
