The Peacock in Austin is a fantastic dining experience! From the moment I walked in, the stylish decor and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a great evening. The Mediterranean-inspired menu is full of fresh, flavorful dishes—I especially loved the hummus, lamb kebabs, and roasted cauliflower. The cocktails were well-crafted and paired perfectly with the meal. Service was exceptional; the staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance was lively yet comfortable, making it a great spot for any occasion. Whether for brunch or dinner, The Peacock is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back—five stars!

A beautiful upscale restaurant in a hotel. Good food specially the hummus and banana bread. Overall the food items were delicious. Drinks had a twist to it. The place is pretty packed and I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. The staff was super friendly. You should park your car in any of the parking lots nearby or the hotel parking. Overall, one of the most amazing places to have hummus in Austin!

We went here for brunch on New Year’s day & were not disappointed. The food is next level. GOOD authentic mediterranean flavours. They pack the punch with fragrant herbs & the food is truly seasoned to perfection. Each of our coffees were served in individual stainless steel carafes, so we could refill our own cups the moment we were ready for more. Perfect portion sizes, not too small - you get a good amount for what you pay for. The restaurant itself, along with the hotel, are captivating and beautiful. Elegant design.. we couldn’t keep our eyes off the room!! Excellent staff, super friendly quick service. Would come back here again & again if someone funded our visits 🤣

This place has a lovely atmosphere, visually. The food is also pretty great. I had the beef short rib hummus (5/5), simple salad with avocado (4/5), beef tenderloin kebab (4/5), saffron rice side (5/5), spiced chocolate crème brûlée (5/5).
I gave the beef tenderloin kebab 4/5 because one of the pieces was so chewy I couldn’t eat it - yikes! I gave the simple salad 4/5 because I think it could benefit from a drizzle of olive oil as well. The crème brûlée was incredible!!!!! Better than expected and my favorite thing on the menu!!! The service was great, and quick! I gave atmosphere 4/5 just because it can get pretty loud at dinner time. Ambiance is super low lighting which is super cute, and romantic.

The Peacock is truly a gem for Mediterranean cuisine! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The decor is thoughtfully designed, blending modern touches with cozy, rustic elements that capture the essence of the Mediterranean.

The menu is absolutely unique, offering a creative twist on traditional Mediterranean dishes. Every plate is beautifully presented and bursting with authentic flavors. Whether you're craving classic hummus and falafel or more adventurous offerings, there's something for everyone.

The service is equally top-notch. The staff are attentive, friendly, and passionate about the food they serve, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable.

If you're looking for a place with amazing food, a cozy ambiance, and exceptional service, I highly recommend giving The peacock a visit. It’s the perfect spot for a memorable meal!

Light, airy space with knowledgeable, friendly service. Really good food. The tajines are well executed but maybe the least interesting items. The manti dumplings are probably the best thing in the menu, but the hummuses are also all delicious, with fresh warm pita. The grilled octopus is flavorful and tender. The cocktails and desserts are all well executed

I ate at the Peacock three times during a recent stay at Austin Proper hotel. I try to eat vegan as much as possible, and Peacock was one of the few restaurants I found several good vegan options. For breakfast one day, I had the avocado toast. It was quite good except for the 2 inches of fresh herbs on top. I love fresh herbs, but that’s a bit much. Unfortunately, the crunchy spice mix was on top of the herbs, so when I took the herbs off, all the spice mix was gone. Fortunately, the restaurant brought me more and even sent me off with an adorable bottle of it to take home. For dinner, I ordered the ‘grain side’ of rice and lentils. THIS. More restaurants should serve this very thing. Enough fake meat already. Unfortunately, it came with peas in it (which the menu didn’t indicate), so they made me a second plate without peas. If you hate peas as much as I do (which is not possible), make sure to tell them ‘no peas.’ For my final breakfast there, I had the chia pudding, which was amazing. It had fresh berries, pistachios, coconut, and (an appropriate amount of) fresh mint. One other note: their iced tea is bitter. I had the mango green tea and the black tea, and both were super bitter. Not sure what that’s about.

The only reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars is it’s really pricey. But the food is great, and if you prefer plant-based food, you have several options (including many I didn’t order).

Very nice terrace and a lot of tables on the inside. The mediterranean mezze was great. Also loved the butternut with feta as a sidedish. The grilled octopus was great but didn't really enjoy the very buttery sauce. Would have preferred without.
