I'd give ZERO stars if I could. The amount of times this monopolizing hospital has put my family's health on the backburner is endless. When we go in to be seen asap we're told you're fine, treat the symptoms if you have any, or let's test for A,B,C, etc BUT if it comes back positive we won't and can't treat it BUT at least you'll know what it is. Gee that makes me feel so much better. Yet when you come in weeks later why didn't you come in sooner let's load you up on meds!! What a freakin joke. Yes some of the employees are great but they do a horrible job advocating for patients because they MUST follow hospital protocol first and foremost. Imagine if they all stood up what would happen yet they sure do love to throw a pity party on duboislive insisting the community vouch for them. An absolute clownshow. I shouldn't have to drive 2 hours or more for good Healthcare especially in emergency situations or really any situation at all. We're all better off researching being our own doctor.

great staff, professional and caring. after pickup truck brake checked me and I hit him in my semi truck which veered off into woods and was trapped in truck. Firefighters had to cut down trees and cut me out of truck. EMT's got me to Penn Highlands Trauma 1. x-rays, tests and then they stitched me up-over 50 stitches. I had broken foot, 4 broken ribs and 4 staples in my head. Took great care of me and in 3 days was able to go home. Can't thank them enough.

This is the third hospital I've been in, in the last 8 weeks. They definitely know what they're doing here and I'll be up and around in less than a week... I've not been able to eat anything in those 8 weeks. It's
wonderful to be able to take it slow & know I'll soon be well....

My great-grandmother stayed here for a few days all though it may not have been the best experience for her I do know Tori is a phenomenal nurse. From her personality to her professionalism, she’s amazing. Tori knows how to keep you updated. Personally I’d be scared to have such a new nurse but if it’s someone like her I’d have no worries. Thank you Tori you’re going to do great in this field. This is 5 stars for her as a person not the hospital. Also shout out to Tess didn’t meet her but my gram spoke highly.

Have been having GI tract issues for over a year. Getting scheduled to see a GI doctor is basically impossible and you will be scheduled months out if not longer. All these doctors do is cost you more and more money. It will be easier and cheaper to just let myself die. I'd prefer death over Penn highlands anyways. I'm not paying anything I owe either. HEALTHCARE SHOULD BE FREE!!!!!!

I would not recommend this ER because of the unreasonable amount of time waiting to be seen. Within the last year two visits that were over six hours. 13 hours and 6+ hours to be exact. Both visits were not appropriate for Wellnow or Qcare. Yes there are only so many staff to patients but I’m rating on what a normal person with a non life threatening emergency would find acceptable.

I walked in around 7 am of the first snowfall of the season with an infection, was treated very well in the ER, and all my tests were completed within an hour of walking in. They knew I had to be admitted, and to be honest waiting for a room upstairs was the longest I waited. I even asked for non narcotic pain killer and it was in my IV within 10 minutes of asking.
The 5th floor staff, as well as the ER staff were kind, patient, helpful, professional, and knew what they were doing. And the view was pretty nice too since the leaves were changing.

I usually have nothing but good to say (The nurses are outstanding.), but when I had to go in-patient after having almost died, I was trying to explain a suicide attempt as succinctly as possible to a resident psychiatrist who literally shushed me and held his finger to my face. So I said nothing. He was classist and blatantly discriminating against me based on condition. I’ve been holding back, but that must be happening to all patients then. It makes us feel awful, plainly put. Please hire professional resident psychiatrists.
