I AM SO ANGRY RIGHT NOW. I am a long time Bonvoy Marriott member. I reserved the room for one night for my birthday. We had a lovely dinner, and departed the next morning. March 29, 2025 (Sat- Sunday). I just received an invoice for 2 NIGHTS. They are trying to rip me off. I paid with my Bonvoy card directly through Marriott reservations- like I always do. We use our Bonvoy benefits often - as a way to have mini staycations. I make the reservations, and PIF using Bonvoy card immediately when I reserved the room. ||||In this case (as most hotels) when I arrived they asked for a credit card for incidentals. I didn't hesitate to give them the 1st card I grabbed - my Citi card. I didn't plan on doing anything, and expected them NOT to even use the card. Needless to say I was shocked that I was billed at all since I prepaid.||||A moment ago I got a bill for an additional amount of Almost $500. AS IF I HAVE NEVER PRE-PAID--- BUT I DID PREPAY. I prepaid for one night directly in the amount of $227.65. To make sure everything was in order I called the front desk Sunday morning (3/30/25) to confirm that we had a late check-out. The front desk said they would give us until 2PM; however, we left before 12 noon to avoid a storm that was coming. Usually as a Bonvoy member when I make the reservation directly through them I pay in full, and never had to go to the front desk for the folio. Usually everything is automated. NEVER AGAIN.||||If I could walk into that hotel right now I would- but I am too far away. Instead- I called the hotel; however, I am unable to speak to a person on site. Automated voice that transfers me after directing me to punch 1 number then another number- yet still no humans pick up. Thereafter, I called Marriott reservations so they can open a complaint file on my behalf. I also called my credit card company to contest the charge and report the FRAUD!! If they don't fix this charge, I will definitely return to the scene of the crime!!! I am thoroughly disgusted, and this experience left a sour taste in my mouth. I will never return for an overnight stay at Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel in Northbrook IL.

We have stayed at this property several times with very pleasant results. We still like the hotel, but not the room we had.|While the room was clean, it was not very functional due to poor design. There is a sofa, but not enough room between it and the bed to put a table. The table is instead in front of the window, so it's useless. The window is small, so the room is dark, yet still lets in too much light in the morning. The fan is so loud that when the heat turns on, it is hard to hear the television or to sleep.|But the worst issue was the unusable refrigerator. As you can see in the attached photo, the refrigerator door cannot be opened. It is blocked by the cabinet door which is blocked by the headboard. Perhaps this could work if the door hinges were reversed.|The staff were very nice. There were free cookies, candies, and hot chocolate for Valentine's Day. The elevators were fast. We enjoyed the lobby bar.

We stayed here tonight and had a wonderful experience. The front desk was incredibly helpful, we were given two complimentary drink coupons, then decided to also have dinner at the hotel. Dinner was delicious, fast, and the chef personally delivered it to us at the bar. Room was spacious and clean. Great stay overall. Will be back.

What a nice gem of a hotel. Stayed 3 nights in this century located hotel. Plenty of parking, at what made it distinctive was the happy employees. It must be a great place to work because they’re all happy.

This is about the 3rd time we stayed and it was horrible. Something was going on the weekend we stayed . Understandable!! What isn’t is the fact that I was woke up out my sleep from slamming door at 1am from people that were here for the event. Screaming loud cursing teenagers all through the halls between 10pm until 1am. The event hired security but they didn’t do much . Called the front desk to enforce quiet hours no one came up !! Won’t be coming back

I had the pleasure of being served by Ramon and David at the bar, and I can't say enough good things about their exceptional service. From the moment I sat down, they made me feel right at home with their warm, friendly demeanor. They were quick with recommendations, attentive without being overbearing, and their positive energy really made the whole experience enjoyable. It's clear they both take pride in their work and genuinely care about providing great service. They are what keeps me coming back to this hotel.

The renovations that were made here was cheaply made. The elevators would stop and be out of service way too often. The room floors was very dusty even behind the tv. Don’t get me started on the tub 🤢. Staff does not provide clean towels, many came in with stains. I also requested a pillow, never came in. The walls in the room is so thin I can hear everything outside. The hallway floors looks like a hot mess. What’s going on? I came here to have a good stay and payed good money!! The best part of my stay was me leaving. 😂

I do NOT RECOMMEND HERE AT ALL!!!

I have stayed at this hotel three times now. Every time I’ve been here it’s been great!! Nadia at the front desk is wonderful and goes above and beyond to accommodate! As a trucker I’m always looking for hotels with big parking lots and this one has it. Easy in easy out. Great location within walking distance of many restaurants. They also have a restaurant/bar in the lobby that’s top notch and a Ruth Chris steakhouse if you don’t feel like leaving. I’ve not had any issues with the noise from other rooms like other reviews have stated…I get up at 3-4am and if it wasn’t quiet I wouldn’t be staying here!! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!
