Place is blessing when you live hours away from the hospital and have to make an unexpected stay. The woman that works from like 4pm to 9pm is miserable tho. If you can't make people feel comfortable then you should not be in charge of hospitality.

An amazing place of care and resources when families need it most! With a family room inside the hospital, as well as the House across the parking lot, this much needed resource is an asset to our medical community, children and their families!

This place was amazing, to have been able to get into it after a tragedy happened to my grandson in January 2024. He was life flighted to Janet Weiss in Danville to the ICU. After a few days of him being there, we found out about the Ronald McDonald House and were able to secure a room. Everyone was so helpful,& friendly! We really appreciate that we were able to be close to my grandson and focus on him completely. THANKS SO MUCH!! This program & the people who work, donate, run things volunteer etc...make a huge impact on the communities that are lucky enough to have them available!!

After my daughter was unexpectedly admitted into the NICU after being born in March, being able to be close to her, pump with the hospital grade pump, bring her milk, visit at all hours, etc. was a blessing that wouldn’t have been possible without the Ronald McDonald house.

When we checked in, the volunteer was the nicest lady I’ve ever met in my life. I was full of emotions and hormones and so upset not to be able to bring my baby home but she was very comforting and sweet. The volunteers throughout our stay were not friendly and would just glare at us as we walked down the hall; not returning any of our “good mornings” or “hellos”. The older lady on our last day was also very nice.

The room itself was disgusting. We understand that every person who stays is responsible for cleaning for the next person, however, having a cleaning service visit the rooms once in a while would be beneficial. The mattresses and the covers were covered in tiny hairs, the bathroom smelled like something I’ve never smelled before, and it sounded like gorillas were in the room above us.

Although I didn’t eat them, they have meals cooked and donated for the families who are staying there as well as all kinds of snacks and drinks. This was very nice to see.

I’m not a social person, especially when upset, but it was nice to see all of the different families being able to come together in the common areas and socialize.

RMDH was a blessing in a stressful time and thank you to the kind staff that help families through their difficult times.

Absolutely amazing place. They take great care of the families while their loved ones are in the hospital. Groups come in with meals and there are refrigerators that have sections for each guest room where you can bring food in to fix your own meals. There are also free laundry facilities right there for you to use. They only ask for a $15 a night donation IF you can afford it. Then before you leave, they ask you to clean your room for the next family. Simply amazing place.

Amazing place for families with children at Janet Weis Hospital. All they ask is a $15/night donation if you can afford it. You can buy food and keep it in bins that are separated for each room. You have full use of all kitchen accessories. In addition, there is a community bin and fridge where anyone can use the food there. Plus wonderful students from local colleges prepare meals and have them there for the families. What a great place to support!
