Cannot say enough about this gem. So much fun for kids. Tons of activities to keep them entertained and also very instructional. If the kids are too young for the science lessons it doesn’t matter because there are so many activities to do. Planetarium movies are great and the kids we gad with us were a little young to understand the message but still loved it.

Me, my wife, our 6-year-old, and our 2-year-old went on a Saturday mid-day. It wasn't too busy. Our main comparison is with the Connecticut Science Center in Hartford near where we live. Overall, they're pretty similar in that there are many hands-on science activities for the kids to do. There were some specific areas that were for littler kids, so our toddler didn't miss out. Both kids particularly liked the mini ropes course inside. We would have definitely tried the outdoor adventure park if it hadn't been closed for the winter season. As for price, it's maybe a little expensive for what you get but not too bad. Some of the exhibits could be polished up a little but the variety was great. The staff were also very friendly and helpful considering we'd never been there before. We happily spent 3 hours here and will probably be back.

The Discovery Center is a great place for kids! I hosted my goddaughter’s birthday here and we all had a blast. There was so much to do for kids ages 3-6. We were in the dining hall where kids spent some time on a craft project. Then we watched the Big Bird show in the planetarium downstairs. Everyone enjoyed the show, even the adults! The mini obstacle course and the toddler section were popular, and the adults enjoyed watching the little ones play.

Thank you to Lyn and Lexi for helping me with the party! Lexi even had birthday candles, which I unfortunately forgot, and she was great with the kids.

1 star for the planetarium...my boyfriend took me on a date and both of our necks were in severe pain the entire time. They have regular chairs and make you stare at the ceiling. The first 10 minutes are bearable then it's just agony. I didn't want to hurt his feelings so I was a trooper and stuck it out. The only advice I would give is to slightly turn your hrad to the side and slide down the chair. I could visibly see his discomfort as he was trying to adjust his spinal column and performing posture correction techniques. The show itself would have been incredible if not for the pain I was in. Thankfully I own a massage business so I can get some relief tomorrow. We have been laughing about it for the past 2 hours but please save your money.

PS please just tell me the name of the company that makes those chairs. Who thought this was a good design

We had a fabulous time at the Discovery Science Center and Planetarium. We got in right away. We had gone years ago, and the museum has been updated since. The space was well utilized, with interesting and informative displays. My 9 and 12 year old have different interests and attention spans, and both were very happy. As an adult I found the exhibits interesting as well. A special shout-out toJayri, who gave a fantastic, kid-friendly, intelligent science demo and manned the flight simulator. He was kind and patient with the kids and really seemed to enjoy what he was doing. In general the staff was friendly and pleasant. The museum was clean, interesting, and well-run. We spent about three hours there (which included watching one demo and one planetarium show), and the kids would have happily stayed longer to spend more time on some of the exhibits. There were some spaces for younger kids (a science-themed play space and a toddler room) which we didn't spend much time in. We recommend this museum for all ages.

I am really surprised how a good theatre with a 360 degree screen can play a show like Mesmerica!! I thought it will be really a nice show given the screen display, but i was disappointed with the show. I wouldn’t even give it 1star. It does not deserve. I can play kaleidoscope displays at home with soothing music with even much better edited videography! Waste of money. It also feels like they are swindling people’s mind with such ads. Such fraud show. One advice, if you want to show these kind of shows make it free for people!

The review of this place is considering it as a museum that it is not. This is a advanced STEM oriented play area for middle school kids. Kids should enjoy this place. Sufficient parking available in front of the building. There is a canteen with two vending machine, but you have to carry your own lunch. The planetarium is medium size and attended to shows that are very ordinary. I traveled for an hour. This place is not worth driving that long. If you are in the neighborhood enjoy the place with your kid.

Went for Mesmerica show. It was really aweful ! I woould not recommend anyone to waste their money for such patterns for 45 minutes continuously played in that 360 screen. Such a waste of money. And above that their chairs are so uncomfortable to watch above. They don't slide but you have to rotate your head 90 degrees to watch the show. The sound and editing of the patterns are awful as well. Never ever go for it instead play calming patterns with different hertz in YouTube at home.
