My trek in the Fann Mountains of Tajikistan was a truly great experience. The group was small, the trip well-planned, the itinerary interesting, and the scenery beyond beautiful. Nicole's expertise in backpacking and in this part of the world is unparalleled. Really, she is a walking-talking guidebook (in addition to being very kind and helpful).

Trip of a lifetime! Afghanistan 2018 - Wanted to go for decades. Was starting to think it would never happen. Then I met Safar and everything came together. Best trip ever - enough structure that we were never bored but also flexible and accommodating. There were certain sites I wanted to visit, and we did, but thanks to Safar's knowledge and connections I saw so much more. Topped it all off with excellent food and excellent people and it was just perfect. THANK YOU SAFAR!

Nicole is the only guide/tour operator I would travel with. As a habitual solo traveler I had strong reservations about going on an organised trip, but not only did I love every minute of our trip to Socotra I would do another trip in a heartbeat, pretty much anywhere. Travelling with Nicole feels like travelling alone but better, because she knows the place but doesn't make you feel like a tourist. It is having the best of both worlds.

My incredible journey through Afghanistan's Wakhan Corridor arranged by Nicole in 2022 was an extraordinary experience. Nicole's meticulous planning ensured a relatively seamless trip, as best as can be in such a wild country, allowing us to appreciate the breathtaking landscapes and engage with the rich local culture. Despite the geopolitical context, the trip felt safe, thanks to Nicole's secure contacts in the region. From the stunning Pamir Mountains to the welcoming Wakhi people, every moment was memorable, making it a unique and unforgettable adventure. Getting off the beaten path like this might take a certain crazy personality but having the experience of Nicole makes it seem easy.

My wife and I travelled to Socotra with Safar Expeditions and it was an incredible experience. The island is stunning and spending time there was a real privilege. Although anyone visiting should be prepared for fairly basic conditions (there are no hotels outside the city, so it's wild camping all round), we felt very comfortable in the tents provided by the team and the food was excellent. They also safely navigated some pretty tricky roads and were really flexible, allowing us to get the most out of our trip. Nicole, who led the expedition, was particularly helpful before and during the trip, helping to make everything as hassle free as it could be andthe trip as amazing as it was. All in all, would highly recommend travelling with Safar. We certainly hope to go back to Socotra with them at some point!

We went to Socotra with Nicole in Jan 2023 - starting in Cairo and finishing in Adan. Nicole handled all the details and was wonderfully responsive pre-trip as what are ordinarily simple things like buying airplane tickets are not easy for this itinerary. She handled every detail. This is an incredible trip - we felt very safe traveling as single women. Her relationships with the locals made it an authentic experience. The beauty and magic of Socotra is beyond compare. We have travelled all over the world and this was a highlight.
