I enjoyed their professional shark dive services. I have been diving with San Diego Shark Diving Expeditions several times. I dove for open ocean sharks such as Blues and Maco Sharks. I also took the Isla de Guadalupe great white shark dives and I loved it. I spent the extended great white shark trip diving with the sharks in the mornings and later in the afternoon went fishing for some yellow tail tuna. I could not have had better trips. Much cheaper than going to south africa to do the same dives.

I recently told someone how I saw great white sharks up close! They were impressed and I know my trip with San Diego Shark Diving Expeditions is one I will never forget. An incredible experience: viewing sharks from the safety of a cage; being on the boat deck and seeing sharks rise out of the water; enjoying the companionship of other adventurers. Doc’s extensive knowledge and years of working with different types of sharks makes the trip outstanding. The crew and food was great. If you are considering taking the plunge, this is the company you want to dive with.

The DREAM trip that totally delivered!!! Had an absolute fabulous time diving with great whites at Guadalupe Island. So good we booked a second trip! Plenty of cage time with amazing photo opportunities. When not in cage ---on deck was fun too. Able to help make chum and cannon shoot it. Treats, snacks, and food delicious. Accommodations adequate. I would have stayed for a month if I could have. The trip over is long but SO worth it. Doc has been doing this trip for years. He knows his stuff and is so knowledgeable. PERFECT! PERFECT! PERFECT! I have no suggestions for improvement. From boarding to departure everything was taken care of. We had an exciting dive where a great white put his nose in cage---thrilling!!!! The crew immediately knew what to do. Safety was at the center of the entire week and that cage was pulled because it was bent. No one complained. It was such an exciting week. For more excitement we witnessed a great white shark breach, and filmed a great white eat a blue shark in three quick bites. This is an easy dive if you can handle the excitement.
We also did the San Benedicto and Socorro trip. Dolphins and a humpback mother and calf were the highlights. Felt like a freight train passed by, Awesome!!! The current was impressive on this trip---should be a strong swimmer.

I went on my first shark diving trip with Doc in 2001 to see blue and mako sharks off San Diego. In 2011, I was once again traveling with San Diego Shark Diving, but this time my wife and I went to Isla Holbox to snorkel with whale sharks. It was an amazing experience, and before we knew it, we were booking for another trip in 2012 to see great white sharks off Guadalupe Island (and we brought a close friend with us this time). Doc places an emphasis on safety and runs a fun operation. He also really seems to care about the conservation of the animals his business depends on. I hope some day to plan a fourth trip to see more sharks with Doc (and hopefully bring even more friends along).

Doc Anes is San Diego Shark Diving!!! A consummate shark diving professional that puts safety and a good time first, Doc and his crew know how to get sharks to the boat, how to keep them there, and he does it in manner to allow photographers the potential to get clean bluewater images.
My buddies and I dove for many years with SD Shark Diving back in the days when there was plenty of sharks offshore in San Diego (pre-mass shark finning), when Doc expanded his operation to Guadalupe, Mexico (Great Whites) and beyond I followed and the resulting trips have been experiences I will always treasure. SD Shark Diving is the BEST!!!

Doc and his crew are true experts. 1st Class!!! Professional, most knowledgeable, friendly, safe. My sons and I had an experience of a lifetime. Cage dive out of San Diego - Makos, Blues, Molas …annnnd to top it off a Humpback appeared a short distance from our cage -hung there and then faded disappeared back into the deep!!
We were only ones who saw it

San Diego Shark Diving is one of the oldest and most professional tour operators in the business. Doc is a solid professional and knows how to serve customers and even picky photographers! I have been on more than a dozen trips with SDSD diving with Blue, Mako, White and Whale Sharks all over the world. Life is good when diving with SDSD!
