Your enjoyment of this experience greatly depends on the driver that you get. We booked both loops online, and it split us, putting one loop on Thursday and the other on Friday.

On Thursday, we did not enjoy ourselves. The driver mostly pointed out his favorite restaurants and the other places he works while throwing in a handful of inappropriate jokes about vortexes being good for divorce, By the time we were returning and he made a joke about it being a good thing he wasn't transgender or his name would be Jennifer we didn't feel a tip was in order, but we both gave him $5, the lowest we each had, out of guilt since everyone else was doing it.

On Friday, we had a different driver who has been in Sedona for over 30 years. While we were waiting to leave, he entertained us with music and other acts. Upon leaving, his wealth of knowledge about the area was profound. It was hard to hear either driver in the back, maybe another set of speakers would help, but this driver told us the names of rock formations that we saw, explained the history of the area, and really seemed to know his stuff. Since this isn't a hop on/hop off, the driver makes all the difference. When we got back to leave, we almost asked if we could stay on and ride the other loop again with him since we really didn't feel like we got it the day before.

We highly recommend this tour *if* you get a good driver, and there is no guarantee you'll get one. We also recommended sitting toward the front or middle to hear better.

The tour itself lacked personality. The narration was difficult to hear and not particularly informative or engaging—it felt more like a basic shuttle service than an experience. The ride could have benefitted from background music or something to fill the silence; as it was, the atmosphere felt flat.

On the plus side, the trolley was well cared for and clean. It was comfortable seating with the breeze flowing.

To be fair, Memorial Day traffic significantly affected the experience, especially the hour-long crawl to the chapel. While the extended duration—over two hours—was largely due to traffic, the price was still reasonable. That said, expectations matter, and the tour didn’t quite meet them.

This was a great tour. Mark, our guide was very informative. I really enjoyed his talk about the vortex areas of Sedona as well as his personal experiences. Mark pointed out a lot of the famous landmarks in the area and gave us a history and geological talk that was super informative.

The views are awe inspiring. The commentary leaves much to be desired.

While still in town, details were light, but there were a few interesting tidbits around more famous residents and filming locations. Outside of town, the guide provided a history of the region that felt extremely shallow, referring to ingenious people as Indians and not knowing the names of actual tribes of the area. This, along with not being able to explain how certain areas got their names, forced us to question the recounting.

Editorial: Fay Canyon is named for Alvin Fay, who founded one of Arizona's first territorial countries in the 1860s.

Where the guide seemed to come to life was when speaking about Sedona's magical vortices. Here, they recount how they were first named in the 1980s and recalled several stories from their time as a tour guide. This included a story around how he was able to help a stroke victim regain use in an arm after 7 years. I feel like the tour would have been much improved had he been able to provide this level of detail in general.

Our experience was great with Sedona Trolley! Bobby and our driver were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Very mellow vibe, our driver played a few songs on his guitar for us, pointed out interesting features around town and among the buttes, Snoopy Rock, coconino rocks and the vortex!! 😄 highly recommend, good price and made memories that will last a lifetime!
