I own and operate a walking food tour in LA, so I know just how hard they are to execute. I try to take a food tour whenever I travel, not just for research, but because I genuinely love them! So Diego does a top notch job!

I took the Brothels, Bites and Booze experience in the Gaslamp and had a ball. Our tour guide Ben, was excellent. He was friendly and super knowledgeable, and also knew how to keep the tour moving. He has everything you'd want in a local guide: professional yet easy to be with, a little nerdy but fun, and organized but flexible. You really couldn't ask for more.

The price point for the tour was very reasonable as well, and all of the food we ate was very tasty. My only critique of the experience is that we did not have a taco on the tour, but I know that those are highlighted on So Diego's other experiences and of course, tasting partners are subject to change.

If you're in SD and heading to the fun and flirty Gaslamp district, I'd start here as a beautiful introduction to the area. Thanks Ben!

We did a food tour with So Diego as a part of a conference program and it was an amazing experience connecting with industry colleagues over tacos and tequila. Nicole and Bianca went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and enjoy the Mexican heritage in San Diego together. I especially appreciated Bianca's wealth of knowledge about the Old Town and its history – it's just so much better to discover the cuisine of a place alongside its historical context.

Benedict was a great guide on our tour, teaching us all about the scandalous history of San Diego at its start! The food and drink choices were great - my favorite was the Greek quesadilla (that I was so excited for I didn’t even get a picture!), so yummy!!! I would recommend this tour or another of your fancy they operate!

The Tacos, Tequila, and Tombstones tour was so fun. Aparna was the most amazing tour director. She introduced us to Old Town with so much history, some really amazing restaurants, and now I feel equipped to do some exploring on my own. Thank you so much!

After an excellent experience on the Tomstone activity we tried to do the Brothels activity but unfortunately not enough people signed up. They were kind enough to provide recommendations and I had a blast by following their directions. I mentioned at each place that they had recommended these locations and their attention was top level. This taco tour is awesome (although I ended up in Little Italy enjoying modern fusion food inspired in traditional Sicilian cuisine.

We did the Old Town tour- Tacos, Tequila and Tombstones. Magda was an excellent guide! She was very knowledgeable, not only about Old Town but about other neighbourhoods in the city as well. I would definitely book another tour with her in another neighbourhood next time. The food and drinks were very tasty and the portions were large enough that we were quite full by the time we were done. The places we visited were popular and we were lucky to skip the lines and get a seat. It was a fun outing for our evening!
