If you’re road-tripping on Route 66 you’ve gotta stop in and check out Sprague's Super Service Station!! It was built in 1936 by William Sprague and its recently been restored to its former glory. It’s even on the National Register of Historic Places. Stop in and check it out – you’ll be glad you did.

A wonderfully restored, historic service station/cafe on the old Route 66. Beautifully done. Great to see extant buildings such as this one representing an era of American history. A bygone time of roadtrips, automobiles, reading maps and places to stop and experience something far different than where you just drove from.

Another one of the several iconic filling stations along the old Route 66 in Illinois. It was at night so we couldn't go in, but super glad that the exterior was lit.

Nice little building on the original route 66. The nice lady that was running the gift shop explain little bit about the building and others in the area. There is two other buildings in the area (two block area) which she told us were service station too. One was across the street from them.

This great stop on Route 66 is now open for business thanks to Terri Ryburn. Stop in to see and purchase Route 66 memorabilia and local art. Terri is very knowledgeable about Route 66 and will love to chat with you! All this place needs is a place to sit with coffee or tea and a pastry or something.

We were there on the Illinois Motor Tour so this may have been prepaid in our registration. There is a gift shop inside if you’re there when it’s open. May be FREE but you should call and let them know you are coming.
