Easy to get to and easy to walk. There is a parking lot right next to the road and walkway. It's about 1/4 mile of flat paved trail. Definitely worth a quick stop.

Easy access to the attraction and amazing to see how hot air escapes the mountain. A great appetozer for all the other vulcanic attractions in the park.

Absolutely cool! I had never visited a geothermal area before so this was amazing. The air smelled like rotten eggs but that is natural. This is a great alternative to bumpass hell as it was closed when we went. Parking can be cramped but it’s manageable. Definitely worth a visit especially if you’re taking Lassen National Highway.

Visted Lassen Volcanic National Park in May and middle of June. This place is amazing! Still was a lot of snow here and there. Some of the trails or paths were closed, but still so many things to see and explore!

Unfortunately the road Rt. 89 at the south entrance was closed to traffic, after the Sulphur Works parking lot. Still snow over your head. But we were able to see the Sulphur Steam vents that ran up the mountainside. Coming back next year to see more of the park, hopefully.

Awesome spot to view the bubbling sulphur pits literally on the side of the road. Yes, it smells Terre, but yes, it looks awesome! The parking lot is only a few dozen feet away and has the trailhead to the other sulphur pits. There's a vault restroom here, too. This is also where they close the road in the early season due to snow. Expect road closures past here in the early season like May to early June.

Boiling mud pot right next to the parking lot. A must stop point in the park. There are many mud pots on both sides of the road
