I have to preface this review that the owners are lovely individuals. I do not write negative reviews unless I feel the information lends to what I would've appreciated knowing when I was looking at making an informed decision. And certainly the nightly cost of this location should warrant informed choice.

My extended family was looking for a relaxing getaway. This place, with its charm and location, could have served this purpose. It has all the potential. But the level of cleanliness was so lacking that it was far from enjoyable. I am not a neat freak, but even the basic level of cleanliness was non-existent. Walking across the upstairs and downstairs kitchen was like Velcro, my shoes stuck to the floors. So next thing I know, I haven't even unpacked and I'm sweating, having dug a mop out of one of the many closets, to even bring all the food for our stay inside.

There was a disturbing amount of dust clumps in the carpeted areas, which even a lazy vacuum job should compensate for. But what really hit home was the bathrooms. I cannot figure out how long a bathroom floor goes unmopped when there's dusty cobwebs where the tub meets the tile. And where the toilet rim meets the floor? Words can't convey. Needless to say, I am on what should be a vacation, mixing a spray bottle of bleach so that I could fathom my little niece even stepping foot into the little bathroom off her first floor bedroom. The second floor main bathroom for my parents? I assumed the peach bath rugs were permanently stained with wear, but upon dropping them in the washer, and hearing dirt pour from them against the metal drum of the washer, I stood corrected when they washed crystal clean. How long do bath mats sit to accumulate this level of grime And how many guests walk on them before they even have what should be a routine wash As an Airbnb superhost myself, I cannot fathom this basic expectation that should be extended to any guest. I would be mortified to bring anyone in to stay under these conditions.

No one should have to go on vacation to be welcomed with a cleaning spree. My brother and his wife, who booked the stay, woke up to a mysterious rash, which became progressively worse during the course of our time there. The cleanliness issues really took a toll on what should have been a care free family reunion.

I attached a few pictures, like the paper towels when I wiped a tiny part of the kitchen floor, which in turn called for the full mopping, as can be seen with the left/right before and after kitchen floor photo. The bathroom pics couldn't capture it, I had long set my phone aside to clean the few essential bathrooms we'd be frequenting. The mystery spots on the checkered bathroom floor wiped up needless to say. Regrettably, if you're staying beyond a single day, and value a basic level of cleanliness, good luck trying to enjoy this place.

Gorgeous Air BNB. The house has many many surprises. Great game room with pool and a poker table. Every bedroom is unique. They even offer a Crockett set to play on the huge lawn.

Its a wonderful place for vacation, elopement, weddings. Its so peaceful and interesting. Have beautiful antiques. The owner is a delightful person. I defenetly recommend it.
