Professional medical staff horrible billing.
0 complaints about the nurses/doctors employed here.

I was told (and asked directly) if all billing was combined and if I could expect multiple bills after. I was assured the amount I paid the day of my surgery (2,000) was all I would pay (minus my doctors fees which I was already aware of). I have since received bills totaling another 1,000 from the surgery center.

I had 0 issues paying this amount had I been told the surgery was 3000 the day of I would’ve paid 3000. I wasn’t told that though. I was told 2000 and budgeted 2000. Just to get more bills mailed to me later.

Surgeries are stressful situations for patients however billing should not be. I will not recommend anyone to use the surgery center of Decatur if they value accurate information regarding their billing.

Just to add in clarification I paid what I was told was the “full cost of surgery” I did not make partial payments and did not pay less than the maximum amount I was told.

I just had my second cataract surgery performed there yesterday with excellent results! I have to say that the crew there consists of some of the nicest and most caring people I have ever encountered in the medical field in my entire life... I would very highly recommend this facility and its crew of professionals to anyone needing their services!

Two weeks ago today I had deviated septum surgery with Dr Godwin. Everyone was super nice, but my surgery nurse was the best! I can’t remember her name but she really was so kind and sweet with me. I was nervous and she held my hand and helped to calm me down before the surgery began. I’ve had several surgeries before at the center, but this was the best!!!!

I have never in life had a team that provided care like this place does . I’ve had a total of 6 surgeries. One of them I was very sleepy and don’t remember how it went because it was years ago . But let me tell you!!!! These last two, I was able to witness first hand te best hospitality and compassion given towards their patients first hand . They took EXCELLENT care of me, if I could give 100 start I would. One of their ladies from safety was in the OR with me both times Mrs. Suzan, is a God send . Dr. Sharp and everyone that I encountered, are excellent examples of empathetic compassion beyond measure.💕

This place is a joke. Day of surgery I get a call at 6 am saying the center is “too cold” to perform surgeries. I had to call my doc and reschedule. Too cold? Probably people not showing up for work. I’ve waited a week to have surgery in a broken leg now I have to wait even longer in pain. Not acceptable.I will also add their billing dept is rude. When they called they said 1-2 up front and 1/2 within 90 days or they’d send me to collections. Not asking if I could afford it, which I can. Just jumped straight to that. I feel sorry for anyone needing surgery who can’t afford it and having to add this extra stress. Do better!
*EDIT- ok. So something did happen to their system. Can’t fault them for that honestly. It was 40° in the building and no hot water. They got it fixed and I Had my surgery the next day. I changed from one star to 4 because their staff is amazing. I kept one off because the billing department needs to learn how to talk to people. They’re rude and uncaring. The rest of the staff is amazing and treats you amazing! My surgery center costs were $2200? Something like that. I paid the half upfront as told I had to, also …their billing dept is kinda ancient and doesn’t take care credit, so be prepared to use a debit card. I still find it unacceptable they require 1/2 up front. What if someone had a broken bone and couldn’t afford that 😳 they just suffer? That rubs me wrong. So be warned. If you need to make payments to pay your medical debt, DONT GO HERE.

They explained everything to us before & after surgery. Attentive to the patient & person who came to drive me home. Three surgeries later & if I had I would trust them to care for myself & also other family members again. Thank you all for your care compassion & concern in making the patient & the one who comes with them feel comfortable as much as you can.

years, and each time has been an excellent experience. Most recently, I had ankle surgery yesterday, and every single healthcare professional that cared for me was kind, pleasant, and attentive. I would not hesitate to go back if I needed surgery.

I am so glad I had my surgery here! From the minute I walked in the door, everyone I encountered was friendly, helpful and helped put me at ease before my gallbladder surgery. It is exceptionally clean too and very efficient. I would highly recommend this surgery center!
