Like a dummy, I left all my fine jewelry in the room safe when we checked out. The hotel manager and the security team (Spencer!) were phenomenal, and worked with me to get my jewelry safely back to me. They have a personal touch that is sadly lacking in most hotels these days. The Grand hotel is real throwback days gone by (we stayed in the historic main bldg), but still offers all the amenities and luxury. I highly recommend visiting this place and the nearby town of Fairhope. It is really a charming area.

This place is exceptional, really. The facilities are top notch the rooms great and most of all the staff is very kind. It's certainly a special type of hotel. There really are no negatives as really the only thing you have to make sure you do it have the desk explain where your room building is on the large, very nice campus. If you love a historic feel with lots of live oaks, this is your place.

Dining was an absolute highlight. The breakfast buffet was a feast, with everything from fresh, local ingredients to indulgent pastries and made-to-order omelets. Dinner at the on-site restaurant was equally memorable, showcasing expertly prepared dishes and exceptional service.

The outdoor spaces were equally remarkable. Strolling through the manicured gardens or relaxing by the pool, I felt immersed in tranquility. The bay sunsets are something you simply cannot miss—they’re magical.

The hotel’s activities, like bike rentals and spa services, added to the experience, and the staff went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable.

Whether you’re seeking relaxation, romance, or a bit of adventure, the Grand Hotel is a destination that truly delivers. I can't wait to return!

I went there for banquet as a guest and it was absolutely amazing... I have lived in the area since 1996 and have never actually been inside until this day and the ambiance was impeccable all around! I strongly suggest visiting as well as sitting in the back area on the boardwalk to watch the sunset!

Great famous hotel. In general it’s a nice place but overpriced. We attended a conference and enjoyed our stay, rooms are big / suite style, but the food was awful.

My family of 8 visited the Grand and had a fabulous stay! The staff was attentive, accommodating, and professional at all times. We stayed in two adjoining rooms and found the resort ultra-kid-friendly with numerous activities. The buffet breakfast was incredible and my kids loved meeting the pastry chief. This is a hidden gem in Alabama and we will be back! A special thanks to John for helping us secure our adjoining rooms! We highly recommend this resort!

We went to the Grand Hotel last week for one night. The room was beautiful (spotless), the service is beyond compare, the location and all the amenities are really top notch. Every staff member we encountered was so friendly, helpful, and seemed to be happy working there. It isn't like staying at a hotel, it is an experience. Yes, it is quite expensive, but worth it for a special memory. There are so many things to do, from the great pool, lawn games, cannon firing at 4PM, sitting and enjoying the view of Mobile Bay and more. There are several restaurants and a lounge to find something delicious to eat and drink. Will definitely be going back and making this at least an annual tradition.

Drove from the Florida Panhandle for Sunday brunch. I have been to Fairhope numerous times. First visit to the Grand Hotel. 5 star first impression! Unexpected Jazz ensemble entertained us during our meal. Wonderful menu selection, beautiful view from ceiling to floor windows looking over the bay and resort grounds. Wait staff was very attentive. We arrived about 1:30. Available parking and they also offer valet parking. The property has an extensive history and it may be worth your time to explore the grounds. I hope to book a long weekend in the near future
