Lodging dates: 5/04-08/2025.
Cool venue, antiquated but perfect theme for retreat in Scottsdale. Various stores near by, but food and actual shopping is a bit of a distance. The FREE Shuttle was a pleasant option. .the pools are great, and the vibe is positive. Banquet food was decent. The Canal Club restaurant was also decent but needs to expand on more options for various diets.
Room was unique and I did like it. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was spacious. I was floor 1.
Meeting space is small and it’s strange walking through bars and common areas to get to various rooms. Overall decent, but unorthodox.
Would recommend and would happily return.

Loved our stay here and wish we could’ve stayed longer! My partner booked a night here for my birthday and it was a fantastic 24 hours. We were able to get into our room early so we could spend the afternoon at the pool, and the staff was so friendly when we checked in. Loved all the outdoor spaces, the pool was so relaxing and the fire pits at night were wonderful. Rooms were comfortable and beautifully designed! Also loved how walkable the location is to everything in Scottsdale. Absolutely would come back!

Honestly, this was probably one of, if not, the best hotel experiences I have had anywhere. My wife and I loved the ability to reserve and get an early check-in, which made it so easy to then enjoy the property, pool area, lunch, drinks, etc. after traveling in early in the morning. Also, it was very nice and convenient with the shuttle to enjoy a nice dinner off-property. Lastly, just the lobby/bar areas and general sitting areas throughout the property were so cool and nice. I know there was a substantial renovation done previously, but it is obvious that this property is very well maintained.

This was our first trip to AZ and The Scott was the perfect place to stay. I would rate it a 4 1/2, but unable to do that here, so I rounded up because, despite some issues, we would stay here again. |Pros-|Location: Close to Old Town and restaurants/shops. We used Lyft, but the resort does have a shuttle service, we opted not to use it. You could probably walk into town or use the resorts bikes, we just weren't feeling that this trip. |Ambiance: We enjoyed the vibe of this resort. The decor and details are exceptional. |Pools: We spent a lot of time at the pools. Both pools were well-maintained and pool towels provided. The pool side bar was open and we had server, Alexa, many times. She was great! |Room: Excellent room! Very spacious, clean and the decor was fabulous. Big double doors leading to a balcony overlooking the pool was a big plus. AC worked. Bed was so comfortable with great linens. Lots of mirrors and closet space. Nespresso machine, ceramic mugs and glass water cups were a plus. |Drinks: We had several drinks at The Canal Club and poolside, all great.|Grounds: The grounds are beautiful. We enjoyed walking around at night. There are several hidden little areas to sit and enjoy. There are hammocks as well. |Other: The option for early check in was priceless. Arriving from another state in the morning and being able to check in at noon was one of the things that sold us on this resort. The grounds crew, housekeepers and valet gentlemen were so friendly. Always offering a smile and a hello. ||Cons-|Staff: The ladies at check in were not super friendly. They were pleasant enough, but were not warm and welcoming. Every server we had at The Canal Club inside the resort was rude. Very curt and more interested in conversing with other young staff than serving their paying customers. We felt ignored on more than one occasion by wait staff and servers. |Food: We were disappointed with most food we ordered, with the exception of the Cubano sandwich, which was good. |Late Check Out: Since we had a late flight out of AZ, we opted to pay for late check out which gives you an extra 2 hours. When laying by the pool I received a text that housekeeping had entered our room and found our belongings still there and check out was 11:00. My husband went to the front desk and told them we had late check out, to which they replied we did not. I had the receipts of this and then upon looking into it, she realized that indeed we had paid for late check out. Unfortunately, our key card was locked and we could not access our room to shower and pack. We wasted a good hour of our late check out trying to get this issue resolved and therefore our checkout was stressful. Not a good way to end an otherwise relaxing trip. We were offered to stay an additional hour and be charged $100 for it, which we opted not to do as we had already paid for early check in and late check out. No apology was given and the ladies were not friendly. |My advice, if you pay for late check out, call the front desk and confirm this before 11:00 to be assured your keycard will not be locked. ||As mentioned above, this resort is great, with the exception of some staff and the check out snafu and we would stay here again if visiting AZ.

Enjoyed our 6 night stay at The Scott. It’s stylish and peaceful. Nice decor, the gardens are beautiful and everything is very well taken care of. We were attending a conference at The Scott, arrived a few days early to enjoy the property. Great pool, love The Canal Club, nice rooms. Quiet, we slept really well. Excellent beds.

Only negative that really impacted our stay was the poor air conditioning in our room. Many reviews that we read prior to our stay indicated that poor air conditioning is a very consistent problem at The Scott. Maintenance adjusted the water pipes, didn’t make a huge difference, they said there was an air conditioning problem in building D (Duarte) and brought us a tower fan to assist with cooling. It helped but wasn’t ideal as it adds more noise.

It was a nice place to stay, however we wouldn’t stay there again.

One of the most beautiful properties I have ever stayed in the lobby is absolutely exceptional. The bar had amazing drinks to offer as well. The room was gorgeous and the bed was so comfortable. Also loved the large walk in shower. I want to also shout out the direct streaming offer for the room TVs. I wish all properties had this
Highly recommend, especially for couples

We dropped by The Canal Club for breakfast and had the best time. From the initial entry at The Scott, we encountered a thoughtful curated environment with impeccable design, courteous staff, and delicious food. Our server, Veronica, was wonderfully patient as we mulled over the menu; being first time visitors, it was hard to choose where to start! I didn’t get the names of the other staffers who assisted in bringing out our food; I wish I had. They all deserve compliments for their professionalism. Their Cubano sandwich and chicken torta are tasty but are even better with a side of black pepper candied bacon. I look forward to our next visit.

We stayed for 6 nights with teens and mother in law. Wanted rooms close, hotel wasn't able to accommodate but tried to get us close. Gal up front super nice and tried her best. Rooms a little dated but goes with vibe of hotel. Room wasn't cleaned everyday and with 4 in a room would of been nice. Depending on day not a lot of room by pool. Close to downtown Scottsdale. Very pretty landscaping and calm feel. Will stay again.
