A little slice of heaven, but one you could feast on for eternity. There are few places which
preserve the true virtue of hospitality, let alone one that is surrounded by such natural beauty, but TSM is one of them. The farm, barn, and Inn are all teaming with life and filled with the aroma of sublimity. Words could describe this place, but I'm afraid it's only the words spoken by angels.

All in all: 10/10

Would give six stars if I could, or 8 billion. Three Springs Ministries has changed my life. More times than I really know. I first attended a camp here in 1994. In the time since, the friendships which began so long ago, all still exist, and many have blossomed so far beyond friendship and into family, mentorship, love and support the likes of which I might never have known. I recommend Three Springs, I support Three Springs, and I continue to call this place home, even though I live in another state.

Here’s my honest review:
I went here on a family retreat with my church a while back. It was clean and well kept. The horses were healthy and well cared for. We had a good time. The staff were nice and the Bernese Mountain Dog puppy was adorable. The rock climbing wall was a lot of fun and well managed.
Here’s where improvement is needed:
1. The food.
The food was absolutely awful. Not only that, people were left hungry because the staff doled out small, controlled portions & allowed no second helpings. The servings my husband and I received was the same amount as what my toddler gets. We were very hungry! We were told ahead of time by others who had been there before to pack lot’s of snacks and things to drink. We pay good money to come. We shouldn’t be hungry or told there’s not enough, not should we have to pack food like that.

2. The “trail ride.” We paid over $40 for a trail ride on the horses. All it was, was a lap around the pasture and back to the barn. It was disappointing.

3. Two of the horses, one of which was mine, decided to suddenly lie down, roll over and scratch its back while the rider was on it. I’m an avid rider and knew immediately to dismount. One of my pastors is not, and when I saw his horse about to do the same thing, I immediately told him to remove his feet from the stirrups and dismount when the horse got down. Had I not have been behind him, or didn’t know what to do, we could have been badly injured. These horses though nice, need some training to discourage this behavior when riders were on them. Other than that, the barn and arena is beautiful and the horses are well cared for. The staff is very friendly, as well.

3. The campfire.
The fire area is amazing. However, we only got to spend 10 minutes there because the last transport back to the dorm area ended quite early. Anyone who wanted to stay longer was forced to walk back. I would have done so had I not a back issue that prevented me from walking that distance.

4. Departure duties:
We had to clean our rooms and the recreation room the day we left. It included vacuuming, sweeping and wiping down surfaces. As paying customers, it felt terrible to have to do this.

In conclusion, this retreat is a beautiful place to spend time. It needs improvements in dining and the trail ride route, as well as training the horses not to drop and roll with riders on them. Make the transport to and from the campfire longer to accommodate everyone.

I hope they take these suggestions and improve and grow. We won’t be back anytime soon, unless things change for the better.

Thanks!

We absolutely LOVED our time at Three Springs. Their staff did everything we could possibly have wanted. They were there when we needed them and inconspicuous when we didn't. My only fear with giving them too glowing of a recommendation is that you might try to book the week that we want!
