I am baffled by all the good reviews. My family of 5 stayed in the White Oak tree house for two nights and it was horrible. It was impossible to get any sleep. The tree branch that goes thru the house creeked all night long. It wasn't even very windy but the rubbing of the branch was so loud that we wished we had earplugs. On the first night the refrigerator was extremely noisy too making sounds like a machine gun. It also does not work well for a family of 5 (including 3 young adults) despite being advertised as sleeping 4-6 comfortablely. We love to hike, camp, and spend time in nature so we are used to noises and "roughing it". This was so much worse than anything I've experienced as far as the lack of sleep. We were so disappointed.

This was a really nice getaway coming from Northern Illinois. We stayed in the Hollow Log cabin. From the outside it looks tiny but once you step inside you realize how comfortable it is and it comes with everything you need. Very clean and quiet. We will come again

We had the Twin Oaks as a last minute labor day weekend reservation. The pics on vrbo did not do it justice. I couldn't have hoped for a better spot for our weekend. Cozy and very charming and so much attention to details. It really felt like a home. Great location as well!!

This is a cozy, scenic, and relaxing place for a vacation (with or without kids)! There's a couple of treehouses and some historical cabins. Lots of solitude and sounds of nature. I stayed at the White oak treehouse with it's own private driveway, fire pit, grill, and two decks. The location is close to other historical locations and interesting places! Book a treehouse or cabin today and stay up in the trees.

A friend and I visited to do some hiking. We rented the Chestnut cabin and it was perfect as a base camp! The beds were clean and comfortable and the showers were hot! We didn't utilize the kitchen except for the coffee maker.
Super close to a lot of popular spots too!
Staff in the outpost was friendly and helpful.

Stayed in the Cottonwood Cabin recently. Every part of our stay was outstanding. Check-in was easy, the cabin was clean and comfortable with air conditioning, hot water, and other amenities as advertised. We utilized the complimentary firewood and lawn chairs to enjoy an evening fire and played cornhole with the equipment provided at the picnic shelter. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in the Pine Ridge Home with several family members this past week. The property served our needs and was clean and well maintained when we arrived. The location was perfect for visiting Garden of the Gods and several other trail heads during our stay. We enjoyed our meals on the front porch and used the fire pit for a pleasant evening gathering.

We stayed in the Cottonwood cabin. It was fantastic. The only reason we are giving 4 stars is because of the cleaning fee that is added to the cost and this is why…. There are instructions in the cabin that before leaving/checking out you are to wash all the dishes, clean the cabin, sweep the floor, take out all the garbage, etc. the only thing they ask you not to do is make the bed. Why are we paying you an extra $28 for your cleaning fee when we are doing all the cleaning? I could maybe understand if you had to go in and spend an hour or so cleaning the cabin for the next rental but this is not the case. I could also understand the cleaning fee being added after the fact if the cabin was left a mess, but it was not. I feel like charging a cleaning fee and then expecting your guests to do all the cleaning is a bit ridiculous. We travel a lot and have stayed in many places and have never been charged a cleaning fee in addition to the cost for the accommodations. We also make sure the place is tidy before leaving as that is how I was raised. I understand not everyone is like that.
