We had the absolute pleasure of working with Jay Raven and the Total Events CT team for our wedding reception, and they truly made our big day unforgettable! From the moment we reached out to inquire about their services, Jay Raven was responsive, professional, and incredibly accommodating.
The DJ, Edwin, had the perfect balance of energy, charm, and musical expertise. He kept the dance floor full all night, reading the crowd and seamlessly blending genres to keep everyone dancing and having a great time. Our guests raved about the music selection, and we couldn't have asked for a better soundtrack to our celebration. The transitions between songs were smooth, and the overall vibe was nothing short of perfect.
Additionally, the photo booth was an absolute hit! It added so much fun and personality to our reception, giving our guests a chance to let loose and capture silly, joyful moments. The booth was sleek and well-designed, and the props were hilarious! We loved seeing everyone’s reactions when they got their personalized photos! And we got a complimentary scrapbook too!

This review is long in coming (6/29/24) and most definitely deserved. Working with Jay was easy from beginning to end. Communication was always clear and consistent, and Total Events’ interface (the company website wherein you create your profile and curate the soundtrack to your wedding) was very easy to use and actually made the process enjoyable. As a radio DJ, host and presenter, Jay is approachable, professional, funny and loves/knows music. Total Events’ DJs are also talented and detail-oriented, based on our experience with John Cardona. We handpicked almost every song for every aspect of the day, and it was ECLECTIC to say the least. After a few short calls to discuss during the planning, John made it all flow flawlessly, and seamlessly filled in the blanks where he needed to (if that doesn’t make sense to you right now, trust me, it will). He had a better handle on the order of things than we did on our wedding day—which took a lot of stress off of us. Our wedding was all about great food, wine, people and music. That last one sets the vibe, cadence and tempo of the whole day, and, Total Events helped us nail it. I can go on, but will end by saying that they are personable, professional and collaborative, and I recommend their services 100%.

Working with Jay and Matt (DJ) from Total Events was a wonderful experience! They were very communicative, flexible, and friendly. Matt made sure our wedding day went very smoothly and ensured that he played the music that we requested! Our dance floor was a BLAST and that is due to Matt's skill and attention to the crowd. Almost all of our guests complimented the music and the fun dance floor. We highly recommend booking Total Events for your wedding or special occasion! They will not disappoint!

We used Total Events, Jay and Ryan, for our wedding this past weekend and let me say- WHAT A GREAT DECISION! They were so communicative leading up to the big day and the portal they utilize is super user friendly. We had a lot of unique song requests as my husband is from Brazil, and they accommodated them perfectly! Ryan is a SUPER talented DJ and not only did he keep the dance floor hopping all night, but he was so nice and his musical transitions were perfection. I can’t speak highly enough about them and will absolutely use them again for any DJ/event needs.
We also had up lighting which was such a vibe. Great for the dinner and evening to tie the look of our wedding together and it ROCKED when the lights changed during dancing time! THANK YOU JAY AND RYAN FOR MAKING OUR DAY SO MAGICAL!!

Just trying to keep this short and to the point. I was hugely let down with the DJ. I don't understand the point of making a music list and the person plays next to none of the selections. The DJ also listened to Rosa ponte about what type of music to play she was there as a guest and not as a person of authority or someone that should be in charge of a vendor. I hired total events , my name is in the contract , and I am the one that paid in cash in person . The music selections that I did t make were subapar. I've been in the wedding reception/ venue business for 10 years and I took a lot of time and thought as to want I wanted to hear at my own wedding over the years. I heard one of my selections maybe out of every 10 songs played. Went up a couple times asking for a specific song and had to wait 5 or 6 songs later to hear it. I honestly feel ripped off and like I wasted 2550 when I could have rented the equipment and had a spotity playlist to accomplish what I wanted . Also my mother in law missed her husband's and one of her daughters speech to us and my best man almost missed giving his own speech because no one was told when they were going to be doing speeches by DJ or wedding coordinator . I only ever cared about the music for the wedding thats all I was in sole control of and I took the time and effort and it wasn't matched at all in the execution .

It was an absolute breeze working with Jay for our wedding a few weeks ago. His online form is so organized, easy, and well prepared. Jay is so fun and easy to work with, he makes the process easy without any worry. We had the honor of working with John as our DJ and he was the BEST! He had everyone on the dance floor all night and made sure he played a variety for everyone. We added uplighting which was set an amazing scenery all night. The lights changed all night and gave club vibes to keep everyone partying. The Photo Booth workers were so nice and even partied with us sometimes. They were all pretty much family by the end of the night. They created an amazing book with all of the pictures taken which was so nice to look at the day after. We had such a great experience with Total Events I would book them 100x over again. Thank you so much for everything you do!
