Our experience has been amazing. I love my 85 year old mother in laws CNA Rachel L !!! She has been amazing. All the way to getting her set up for a long overdue hair cut and wash and even when she is off going above and beyond for her and us! Her RN Danielle has been amazing as well. I was in class doing an exam for being an RN. When i had to text them off the clock due to an emergency but i could not be on my phone. They both worked together and had the on call nurse to go to her house and take care of things until I got done and there ! These people have become the helping hands I needed to be a mom , employee , Student and caregiver I needed ! I can’t say enough about how appreciated I am for them !!!

The team was immediately responsive to any needs, promptly assisting with symptom management, equipment, and transport needs. Great staff, very compassionate. Jen and her staff in lower Sussex County are some of the best in this line of work, which is heartbreaking. I haven't had the pleasure of working with the mid state office much yet but I'm sure they are just as wonderful.

I wanted to say thank you and that I highly recommend Vitas for your hospice needs. Anita Glenn was my mother's hospice nurse and couldn't have been any kinder and was a total professional. She was honest and frank with her assessments and very responsive to emails, texts, and phone calls and was always very attentive to my mother's needs. She wasn't just there for her, she was there for us and was my mother's advocate when we weren't there.

I also wanted to say thank you to Chaplain Leslie. My mother was a follower of Christ and having Leslie with her very week or more praying with her and uplifting her kept my mother at peace to the end.

Very disappointed with the care and services. Vitas failed mom in her last days. They got behind in prescribing morphine. Mom was not comfortable or peaceful. I called Vitas throughout the night, the "emergency hospice nurse" didn't exist. Started calling at 11pm. Last call was 6:30am. Mom passsed 8:25am, a painful, unpeaceful death. Vitas Hospice finally returned my calls at 9:30 to tell me that the on call nurse would be there in approximtely 45 minutes or so. I advised them that mom already passed. This is inexcusable, no one should have to die like this. We were contracted with Vitas to provide comfort care in mom's final months. You failed to provide comfort services. When I spoke to the facility Assistant Director of Nursing the next day she advised me I should have had their nurse call her and she would have had their MD intervene and provide the care that Vitas did not. This is shameful.

Bad. Bad. Bad. They are not truthful at all. It goes up to management also with the untruthfulness. If you want your loved one to suffer, not be cared about and be lied to then this is the company for you. I use to work hospice in another State and this company is not how you take care of someone or their family during an already trying time.

Called Vitas this morning to ask for help with my Mom. I knew if she went to the hospital and rehab I might never see her again and she has been declining.
Well, the nurse came before noon and by 2 pm Mom was resting comfortably in her own room with her dog at her side! I am so relieved for the help and recommend Vitas highly!
I didn't need a family doctor to "sign" her in. Vitas has their doctor to help with that.
