I love the Opera House a lot and these people are nice and friendly. That's where Bill Murray as Phil Connor jumps off the window trying to kill himself. Other than that, I love the best filming location for Groundhog Day that came out on February 12th, 1993.

We went to see Groundhog Day the musical at the Woodstock Opera House. The opera house is not as ornate as the venues in downtown Chicago but it is very charming. Based on the exterior size of the building I was expecting more seating. The capacity is 417. We purchased seats that were in the second row. The orchestra pit was only a few feet from us (the first row was not sold in order to give more space to the musicians). We were concerned that the music from the musicians would be too loud but it was fine and our view of the stage was great. I think the perfect seats would be first row in the balcony or maybe 4th or 5th row on the main floor. The ticket prices are very reasonable.

Venue is stunning, rich in history and very comfortable. The show, Seussical the Musical was extremely well done. Opening night you expect some glitches, but no...it was AMAZING! Amazing voices across the board, visuals and cast facials were spot on...they play this March (until the 19th...I think) do yourself a favor go see the show, fabulous family outing!!!

My son & his girlfriend took me to see the White Christmas Sing-a-long here on December 16th, 2019, as White Christmas is my favorite holiday movie.... Highly recommended!! Once everyone was in the theater & seated they had a group trivia contest 1st based on the movie. I didn't expect that, but it was a fun little addition! Between the lights in the square, the trees all decorated & beautiful in the opera house, the movie, & my company, it was a magical & festive night! All for $5 per person!! Can't beat it & can't wait until next year. We've decided this will be a new holiday tradition. Although now that I've raved about it on here, we'll probably have to get our tickets in July! Lol!

The building is absolutely beautiful. It was very cool to be able to experience going into the building. The show was amazing. The only downfall is the seating. My seats were the right side of the balcony, second row. Couldn't see the stage at all from where I was sitting. Especially after people sat in the front row. I missed 75% of the play. Seats were reasonably priced, however for missing most of the show it wasn't really worth it. If you are thinking about going try to get seats on the front row of the balcony or the middle of the balcony or down on the main floor.

Saw the Christmas Movie musical. Performers were talented; but certainly not worth price especially for the balcony seating while the theatre is under construction, it’s a no for me . (And $11 for 1/2 c Josh Pino Grigio!)
