Our favorite charter company. captain Mark went above and beyond for all of us on board. He had the boat (Quest) waiting at the dock on time. He got us on the big fish every day. He was friendly, cool headed and had great knowledge of the bay and told us stories about the surrounding area. We will always use Yakutat Charter Boat Co. in our annual trips. And yes, do the glacier tour. It’s an unbelievable experience.

"Spectacular Hubbard Glacier Views!"

This month we took Mark and Sylvia's boat tour of this massive glacier near Yakutat. Traveling to and from Hubbard Glacier, they gave us many interesting insights about the region. At the glacier Mark showed us the most scenic views, by moving back and forth along the 7 mile wide face, looking for the most brilliant blue ice formations and also telltale cracks of imminent calving. His judgement succeeded, as we saw several spectacular calvings of "multistory building" size sections of ice collapsing into the bay!

Mark is the best! We have ocean fished with other captains in the past, but only with Mark since we found him. Highly recommend adding the glacier sight seeing trip to the fishing.

Mark Sappington is an excellent salt water guide, the best myself and our group have ever used. We have gone out with Mark about 10-12 times over the years, always successful, very safety oriented, fun to be around and knowledgeable about his community and waters surrounding Yakutat. I simply could not recommend him anymore. Our group will be coming back again in 2014 and we are already looking forward to visiting him again and the great community that is Yakutat. Quite possibly the best guide in Alaska!

I recently chartered with Mark several times and had a great time, lots of laughs and some big fish. Accommodations were just right with several options available. He has ocean skiffs and some drift boats if you want to fish the Situk. Vacuum sealing and freezers on site to preserve your catch. Local area has several stores available for groceries, hardware store and fly shop with a very good selection of fishing gear, a bar/liquor store close by. I'll definetly be fishing with Mark on future trips. If you find yourself planning a trip to Yakutat give him a call. Good luck fishing and have a great time.

We did a glacier tour with Mark to see the Turner and Hubbard. The boat was clean and warm! He was very knowledgeable about the area and glaciers, would definitely go out with him again.
